So my friends and are have created a team to all play together. I have a few questions as I and all my buddies are completely confused. 1: in the Team Adventure screen, to the top left, the series rewards it says I/we are unranked, how do we get ranked? 2: Ranked Adventure, how does my team become ranked?? I see it says we need to become level 3 in Racing/Games/Anything goes to access this.
Now, I noticed playing with team members we were getting team points, however we see ZERO progress in any of the 3 team rankings. I have done extensive searching via google to try and figure this out to no avail, hence my resorting to hoping to find info here? We obviously can’t figure out what to do so could any kind souls point us in the right direction please???!
So I played 3 rounds of Team adventure today, and I have no idea how this works and why I can’t earn points.
I started today in league 20, rank 190
The first round my team won the first 3 races, so we won the championship. I finished in the top 4 each race. When the adventure completed, I lost 78 points, and got dropped to league 20, rank 112. Huh? My team wins and I lose points/ranking?
The second round, my team loses the adventure after all 5 races were complete. On average, I finished in 8th place. I lose 78 points and am now league 20, Rank 0.
The last round is completely baffling. In the first race, my team had 6 players, the other team had 5. My team won resoundingly. We took the first 4 places, and I finished 2nd. The 2nd race, 3 players from the other team dropped out, so it was 6 against 2. My team finished 2nd - 7th places, and the other team finished in 1st and 8th. The other team won by a score of 750 to 400. The 1st place winner got 650 points, and the 2nd-5th place finishers (my team) each got 100 points. The other 2 players on my team got 0 points, and the last place racer got 100 points.
As far as I know, you have to reach level 3 in unranked, to unlock ranked. Then you play ranked until you level up for league(I believe). I think it takes 10 ranked adventures before you qualify, whether you have to win those ranked or not to level up, I have no idea
I also want to know how the points are calculated.
In one occasion, my team won and I got 10 points added only. On average, it should be around 50.
In other occasion, my team lose and I got 17X points deducted. I was not doing badly and finished last in that occasion,
it was nearly one complete level (250points) I need to earn.
I have to say that sometimes it was 1XX points up after a win. But it is rare.
As far as I know, you cannot lose points when you win the championship. You must be misremembering, or has anyone else encountered a bug that causes this?
EDIT: Actually, I remember now there is a bug that when a person quits the championship after finishing, their points are not tallied but their finishing position is displayed on the post-game score screen. So it is possible for your team to win with e.g. 1550-1500 points, but the game acknowledges the win to the other team because you actually have less thant 1550 points due to the leaver, the game just doesn’t update to reflect this in the scoring screen.
Again, this scenario is impossible so you must be misremembering. You get 100 points for every person on the other team you defeat, including people who left during that round (signified by a flag with an ‘x’ in it in the post-round score screen.
It is possible for the person finishing last to earn 100 points if there is a leaver, but it is not possible for your team to finish 2nd - 7th and earn 400 points.
As for your question on how points are calculated - I have no idea. I once lost 200-something points finishing 2nd, 1st, 1st, 1st, 2nd, and my lowest increase with a win was +3 points during a round with many leavers on the other team. It would be nice if this experience was either explained or smoothed out in a way so that it feels consistent with your performance.
I agree, it would be nice to have an explanation of how the ranking system works. Maybe they’re worried people would find ways to exploit the scoring if the full details were published.
I’ve wondered if places gained vs the start grid count for something, as I had a pretty awful team adventure yesterday, finishing quite low down all the time, but I think I did generally manage to work my way up through the field to some extent, I just always seemed to be starting at the back. I gained quite a lot of ranking points, so that’s why I wondered if places gained is an element.
Perhaps I’m misunderstanding your point; please correct me if I’m wrong. You are telling him that it’s impossible to lose rank if you win the event. Correct? Please help me understand what happened in this video of mine.

If you leave early, how many points you will lose? The same as losing that event?
An how much time you will be banned from ranked race? during the ban, can you join another type of ranked race?
Eg. banned from race and go to ranked PG games.
I understand how the rounds are scored, but how much you win/lose still confuses me quite a bit. For example, today, I just won my first two matches (first went 3-1, second went 3-0), and yet, I still got 0 points for each of them.
I’m not even sure the devs understand how it’s supposed to work. I know it takes a ton of patience just to find 12 people willing to even play it.
I would say the problem started long ago when someone suggested we bring Team Rah-Rah to online racing.
I think most people who take the time to tune their cars are not as thrilled about having to battle YOU to earn your trophy for you.
Let me give the devs a small clue here.
There is no possible way to make it “fair” to everyone and not everyone will get a trophy.
There must always be a last place. Accept that and you will do much better on future releases.
OK. I played a few more Team Adventure series today. Between yesterday and today, my teams lost the last 4 adventures. I have been at League 20 Rank 0 for the last 6 adventures. Out of the 3 adventures I did today, my teams lost the first adventure and won the next 2. I am still at League 20 Rank 0.
This proves what myself and others have reported. It is very possible to be awarded negative points or 0 points for winning adventures. This pattern also shows that after you drop to League 20 Rank 0, losses still count as negative points, but are not displayed on your rank page. At this point, I have no idea how many adventures I need to win before I see a positive rank score.
What bothers me is that when I first qualified for this series, I won my first 3 adventures which showed me in League 18 Rank 560 something. At this point, I wish I could “unqualify” and start again, so I at least have a chance of winning decent prizes
