Team Adventure - Please Explain How it Works

So, new day, new Team Adventure. Continuing my saga. I played 3 team adventures last night.

The first series, my team won 3/5 races. I finished 1st or 2nd in all 3 races. My rank increased to League 20 Rank 50.

The second series, my team won 4/5 races. I finished between 7th-10th in all 4 races. My rank increased to about 190.

The third series we lost. The first race of the series my team had 6 players and 5 on the other team (and don’t tell me it’s impossible to start a Team Adventure with fewer than 12 players). My team won the first race, and lost the next 3 races. At the start of the second race, the other team had only 3 players. They finished 1st, 5th and 9th. The other team won the race. The third race, the other team finished 2nd, 4th, and 6th. They won the race. The last race, well they won, but the finishing places really doesn’t matter.

Very strange. It has been my experience that if a team has 4 or fewer players, they will always win the race, unless, they all finish last.

Last month, I started Ranked race event, not much time left and tried to get as much as I can.
I can remember it was the last few minutes of the countdown and I was Rank 14 racing in the middle of the last event possible,
one more win needed to promote to Rank 15, which is a lot more in terms of rewards.
The event came to round 5, unfortunatly, We lost. Very disappointed, but I accepted it since it was the first try and tried my very best.

This month, I tried Unlimited event, everything gone smoothly, winning about 5 out of 7,
(Except long waiting time, disconnected before starting, etc. of course)
I was Rank 11 and just about 50 points needed to promote to Rank 10, you should know what’s the difference, and this is my lowest target.
I thought it should be a 14 minutes or 40 minutes away to Rank 10 by that time.
ALL OF A SUDDEN, I lost 4 events straighly, winning one back didn’t earn much. Nearly every event after that was a lost. Unlucky again?
Adding salt on my wounds, I realized that winning earned me significantly lower points.
I spended 4 more, 4 MORE DAYS and that 50 points was even more far away, now more than 500 points needed.

This forced me to think why? Why they always put me to the losing team; put me to a team with no earnings after won?
Someone left early in my team, and a PG game started, no way to win and no balancing at all. (Tell me if any.)
Sometimes 4 vs 6, lost 33 points.
Someone left early in opposite team in occasion, and we won after a tough fight, give me 5, yes, 5 points.

Based on my observations:

  1. Rank 15 and Rank 10 is very hard to achieve.
  2. Early leavers will be a game changer. Either you lose the event or you lose points.
  3. Matchmaking or Matchfixing? They will fix you (higher rank player) in the losing team with strong opponents, any possible way to make you earn no points.
  4. Still not very sure if Rank is a factor in the points calculation.

Ranked is a joke.
No option to vote on races
No collisions off option
Constantly getting disconnected
If you win, you probably haven’t won due to a terrible team
They have excluded solo racers in favour of team racers
Once again another game ruined because they wanted appeal more to the fortnight 10yr old audience with clothing than to the core player base
Focused to much on a money grab they left features out that are in older Forza games, focused to much on clothing items than including features needed to make the game enjoyable.
Huge disappointment for me, from now on if i want to play a new Forza ill just game pass it.

Hello everybody,

I have joined this forum especially to talk about the points system in Team Adventure.
Me and my friends have just end a championship in which 3 ppl from another team and one from ours left. We have obviously lost. Last race I have finished being 1st and I have got less points than dude who end up being 2nd, not to mention that in 3rd race I finished just ahead of my enemy and I end up being 2nd. What the hell?
How can this be so bad? I have never seen so wrong and badly implemented ranking system as it is in Forza right now.
Obviously waiting with your friends for like a 5-10min for Team Adventure is another topic, that I could go on and on…

Rant over…

Anyone notice there is a “team skill rank” displayed on the background while your team and cars first shown in cut scene?
Does it affect your score earned or lost after race?

I’m still in my first series of ranked, and I have been stuck on level 17 for the last 2 weeks, actually, that’s a lie, I’ve been bumped down to 18 several times, and have had to work my way back up. I hate the way that luck plays more of a part in earning rank than skill does. It seems that the matchmaking is screwed up.

So anyway, last night I was on a team adventure. 1st race I came first. 2nd race I finished 7th, because Free-Roam Rush is a lottery at best, and 3rd race I finished 4th, behind 2 of my own team and one from the opposing team. My team won 3-0, and I lost 40 rank points? WTH? Another series, I got 2 wins and a 2nd, while in freeroam rush got 4th and 6th, and my reward? 2 league points, TWO?

Also, it would seem that any time I get anywhere near rank 16 (my best is 978) I get lumped with a team of drivers who just can’t drive competitively. More often than not I find myself in the top 3 of a race, but that’s no use if the rest of your team finish in the bottom 5 places. How am I supposed to rank up when this keeps happening? I played a ton of team adventures yesterday, and I’m actually at a lower rank than when I started, despite being in the top 3 places for most of the time (although I hate freeroam rush with a passion, it has no place in the racing series).

So basically, whether I rank up or not depends on a team I didn’t choose, racing in a series of races I can’t choose the type of, in a class of car that I can’t decide on either, Hell I may as well let the “choose your car” timer run out and just race in what the game gives me… I wouldn’t recommend trying, it lumped me in a Ford GT for a Cross Country race… I didn’t do well, but at this point I’ve pretty much given up with the ranked adventure…

I did venture into the games a couple of times, but I recall a round of survivor where the opposing team had 6 players and 4 of my own team had disappeared into the ether. It took less than a minute for 6 of their team to infect the two on my own team, so we had little chance of the two of us infecting their 6 within the same amount of time. At that point I bailed and never returned.

It wouldn’t be so bad, but you also lose rank points if you leave a series early, so if you’re stuck with a team of drivers that suck, you’re in a lose/lose situation, and it’s completely out of your control!!!

Is there no punishment for quitting early?

I have noticed lately that a few people always drop from the losing team before the last race if they think their team is going to lose.

Is this how people are getting to 10+ with Team Adventure? Just playing the system and screwing your team mates?

If there was, then no one would play this. How should the game tell whether someone quit intentionally or got disconnected or his/her game froze ?

I too, have no idea how this works. The three times I’ve tried this were disappointing. Ramfest, even team mates were ramming me. This needs a ghost and an invitation-only mode.

You lose points if you don’t win, so you need to lose points if you quit… Otherwise people will continue to bail (so they dont go backwards).

If they want a system like that, just make everyone go forward - winning team goes forward double. At least then people will stop quitting.

When someone quits their score doesnt count, so your team drops even more.

Sadly yes, they only care for there own selfish agenda, same when you get rammed by a fellow blue. Why i don’t bother with it any more, waste of time. Wish they would bring back the single XP Championship. least there i know i’m on my own.

I’ll tell you how it works, pretty simple, really:

  1. wait a few minutes to find a session
  2. get rammed on every corner
  3. get disconnected from the session.

You can get in within a few minutes? man your way ahead of me!

Now I got disconnected within minutes.
And I am sure that points will be deducted if you got disconnected in ranked races.

Oh, you bet they will. At least you won’t get banned for “quitting”, that’s how it was on release.

Sure that there is punishment for quitting early, I lost some points last week due to unstable connection.
This is server side problem, it’s unfair for this kind of punishment.
Also, when the game CTD (in my case rarely.), no body knows why and it is not intentional.
And also not sure how long you will be banned, 24 hrs? 24 mins?

In fact I don’t mind playing with noob team mates sometimes, but the unknown points calculating system make me sick,
just wait to lose and lose unknown but lots of points. Maybe quitting early can save my time.

Honestly, there should not be a ranked system. People just engage in full on try-hard mode. The rank won’t show how good of a driver you were cause there is always a rammer above you. Also, the prize isn’t that great in lower ranks. I play quickplay adventure instead, queue up faster, choose to join or not, try out cars I build and way less stressful(even though there’s still rammer, I had a lot more great race than ranked).

For me, I search for 10 to 20 minutes only to not find a game. There doesn’t need to be a ranked and unranked playlist to cause a division in the community if the population is this low. Very frustrating to not be able to find a game.

Plus, the idea of ranked in a game mode with “fun” gametypes doesn’t make sense to me. Plus, if you run up against a team of 4-6 then you’re screwed.

Another disaster this afternoon getting back to race only ranked events.
Losing 5 out of 6, they always put me into losing team. At least 2 of them was completely hopeless. I always ask myself why I was so unlucky,
or the teams are actually WELL BALANCED, not random matching making.
Last game started with a 6vs5, players skills seems balanced, with less 1 player advantage on opposite team,
when It came to round 3, another opposite player left, so they have huge advantage (6vs4). Even I finished 1,1,1,2,1 on 5 rounds, my team lost.
-73 points. Total after 6 events -168
Down to L15R1441

Losing against less people team will cost you more. But in fact this is a lot harder to win in races. And if you win, the points you earn could be a lot lesser.
So if you leave early, you are actually helping your teammates, unless you are a very strong player that can win every game for sure and your teammates are not very good.
You should earn points like the remaining teammates.

Get a team. It’s going to be impossible to rank up with the random pick-up style. 2-3 informed players is enough for you to dominate.

Get a mic. Players are stupid. Sorry, but they are. Telling players your intentions helps a lot. “Stay on the road” free roam rush. “We are winning. Hold your position “ racing. “Coming through on your left or right” “SAME TEAM” “Stop holding me back”

Get your car in manual/manual with clutch and stop messing around with automatic. DONT EVER DRIVE IN AUTO!!!

Slow the hell down. Hitting corners hot will help you lose.

No collisions. Collisions slow you down. Especially laps 1-2 and 0-60% in a sprint. Don’t get caught up with aggressive drivers. Gear down then gear up on their ass when the try to smash you into a tree or corner. Then say “maybe next time “ on the quick chat.

Take a look at the grandmaster players list. They rarely lose.
They have teams and they can drive manual.
