Thrust master 458 Spider

Hi all, I’ve just purchased the basic 458 spider wheel primarily for FH5. I’m finding every car seems to be very twitchy when driving. Can anyone who uses this particular wheel offer any advice on settings changes that could help?
TIA

I have the same one and I had the same issue. The best fix I have found is adjust the sensitivity in the advanced controls menu.
Hope this helps!

Do you know which one you changed? I’ve tried some to varying degrees of success

There is a learning curve for a wheel, it takes practice and time to learn. It behaves differently than a hand held controller and now you have a lot more physics to deal with.

TBH: you’re spinning out because up till now you’ve never had to really correct a car out of a loss of traction using a wheel nor have you been able to feel it either… - can’t just flick your thumb and counter-steer a thousand times in a second to over come poor tunes with less than optimal grip sacrificed all for POWAHHHHHHHH.

Now having said that - I have played FH4 and FH5 almost exclusively with a wheel (Logi G923) I can’t lie though, there are some days I do plug in the handheld controller just because - while the physics in this game are by far the best of this open world racing - sim-arcade genre - they aren’t quite “SIM” level or even Motorsport levels.

Just remember: Even when dialed in it’s going to take some time to learn it regardless. Get tunes from other wheel users, avoid the meta power tunes too… you need weight reduction, brakes, and tire tunes.

It’s not glorious and you gotta hustle, and some days the power tunes and AI will be frustrating.
Learn your tracks, learn the corners and braking zones, and you’ll be passing when everyone else is sliding off corners. It will feel like a penalty to use it. Stick with it.

Okay, I found this:

I believe it was the “steering axis dead inside”.
I also found this video if above doesn’t work:

I completely agree. I play with Thrust. Master T. M. X. and I, too plug in a controller from time to time.
I also agree that it isn’t the most realistic driving game I have ever played. :slightly_smiling_face:

Cheers all, I’ll certainly have a look and basically just keep practicing. Changing the sensitivity looks like it could be a major help!
