I play FH3 on xbox one s.If i pull trigger down halfway, will the amount of power(throttle) comes out in half? Or it can only pull to the end with full throttle
Yes, you can apply partial throttle with the trigger. It’s essential when driving many powerful rear-wheel-drive cars. Why don’t you just try it for yourself and see?
If you’re asking whether the trigger works like a button – i. e. it’s either 0 % or 100 % – then no, it relates to the amount pressed.
Thank you for answering my question, i appreciate that.
Depends on how much pressure you apply, throttle control is one of the most important things to try to master in racing games. It affects all cars but RWD especially, throttle control while turning makes a huge difference. I haven’t mastered it and I doubt I ever will, but getting better at throttle control will make you faster!
Some controllers have less accurate triggers than others, I had to buy a cheap controller recently because my custom controller died and the trigger has a rather small mid-zone and jumps from 20 to 80% with a very small spot between making part throttle difficult to find sometimes. Just something to keep in mind.
Triggers are analog and in the case of the Xbox One at least they’re haptic as well, so they vibrate when losing grip. The single best addition to a racing game, ever.
That was the first thing I noticed when I played FM5 for the first time. If you could see the look on my face…
It’s surprising how much you rely on the haptic feedback too, every time the batteries run low in my controller the FFB turns off and suddenly I race like crap
I’ve found taking the outer deadzone down to zero helps as well since it gives you even more travel to play with. But I agree the grip vibration makes such a massive difference it’s now difficult to play a game without it
