I just got this game and I like the improved physics a lot and the game overall.
I’ve noticed that the throttle goes from 0 to 100% in about 1/3 of a trigger pull. It makes it very difficult to properly modulate the throttle and when I try to apply a little throttle mid corner I just end up spinning off. I looked at the throttle gauge and it’s pegged at 100% even though it should be only 10-20% to stabilize the car.
I tried adjusting the dead zone in the controller options but it only adjusts the dead zone in the limited range so it doesn’t help at all.
Is there any way to get throttle response across the entire range of trigger pull?
If you’ve set the dead zones from 0-100 then trigger response is across the entire trigger but because the pull range of the controller is quite small it sometimes gives the impression that only a limited amount of it is in use. There’s a tiny graphic next to the speedo that shows you your throttle/brake pull rate so you can actually see that it does work.
I had exactly the same handling issues but all I did was take a car with high grip, moderate speed good steering (TCS and STM on) then race a rivals ghost on a short twisty track until i could drive the track without the assists kicking in. Next simply turn each assist on/off (to find the most comfortable combination) and try keep up with the ghost.
My choice was the X-Bow (class A - tuned with high downforce) and Alps track #6.
I’m sure there are other more ‘professional’ ways to do this and i’m sure more experienced drivers will tell you better ways, but it worked for me so i’m happy.
Their is an update for the controller if you have the plug and play cable or the xbox 360 wireless mic cable it will work. Plug it in and go into the setting on the system and their should be an update for it. But the dead zones in the game definitely need to be set it helps a ton.
