This Week's Forza Leagues: R900 Can-Am | P998 Ghosts | A700 Ultimate SpoCom

I just started doing the Can-Am league, and I’m getting close to the top 50% despite always finishing in the latter half in my races. Right now, I’m having conflicting thoughts on the difficulty of getting and maintaining the top 50%. I keep thinking that the point requirement to get into the top 50% is going to increase with more people wanting the car. However, I also feel that more people participating means more people in the top 50%. And there’s probably going to be people who do a few races and give up.

I’m in the elite league, not the pinnacle league btw.

So, how difficult do you think it will be to finish in the top 50%?

who knows!

We saw that! The Nissan works well on a select few layouts, like Yas Marina and Bathurst. And a grip oriented Lola isn’t bad on some smaller and/or wet tracks as it’s nice and planted.

Not very hard. All it takes is perseverance. If you’re struggling for pace compared to others, try LMR Harmonic’s tunes. He has a good range to use for these. You’ll find more people, will be doing this for the prize car, and among them, lots of the faster drivers will be in it too. Hence, don’t be disheartened if you lose, there’s a high calibre of drivers currently, and you’ll leapfrog many of them by keeping at it.

Had a good night of racing with PJ and LMR Harmonic, accumulating a chunk of points. I remember seeing Zedeeyen in some of the races ^^ We had some decent races, and I was impressed given the warnings that some people lacked race skill, it was largely okay. Only a few Alan Shearer elbows being handed around with just a few drivers that perhaps shouldn’t be in Pinnacle and should be in the Tag wrecker lobby.

I’ll do another session tomorrow which should hopefully put me comfortably in line for the unicorn Ferrari.

Had some good and some not-so-good races last night. I don’t actually think most of the apparent extra crashyness is out of malice or carelessness, I just think the consequences of even small mistakes are worse in these cars. I certainly made a few mistakes and bumped people, and I got slammed a few times by people I know to be good, clean racers. And my only 2 rage-quits came from being accidentally collected in someone else’s crashes, which is just bad luck.

That said, it only takes a couple of 1st-bend heroes to affect the whole lobby. If every time you ease back for safety you get smashed by the next guy coming up, you’re quickly going to develop a reluctance to ease off, and you become part of the problem.

Yas Marina is chaos though. I actually wish they’d take it out of rotation. With a few cutters in the lobby no one can predict what lines anyone else will take and what speeds they’ll be doing and it just ends up a demolition derby. Not fun.

Early on last night it looked like the McLaren was the go-to car:

Fortunately in the last night session things changed; between myself, Motorhead and the LMR guys our results convinced the rest of the lobby that the “Datsun”, Chaparral and Lola had potential as well.

I even managed to beat Motorhead’s best lap at Sonoma, was proud of that one considering he holds a few #1s elsewhere.

Ended up in 7th place by the time I was done, about 50,000 points. I’ll keep racing though as I like these cars, despite the inevitable 1st lap incidents.

After doing an impromptu late night session with a few friends I’m beginning to settle on my cars for this week. After doing some back-to-back comparisons I’ve decided to use TCS as well, as I’m about a half second quicker with it in the grip cars and more in the power builds.

Right now I’m using:

  • A “grip Mclaren” as my all-rounder.

  • A Nissan for acceleration tracks.

  • A “power McLaren” for speed tracks.

I might swap out the “power McLaren” for a Lola however, as it’s easier for me to distinguish between cars/builds when they’re from different manufacturers.

It takes a while, these are tricky to drive. I can drive them reasonably well without TCS, but given the raw speed that some of the Pinnacle Drivers have, plus the various bumps and scrapes that can send you into an easy spin, I’m using TCS for now.

Elite will probably have more players than Pinnacle, but those people will also be a bit slower and more accident prone. A good target in each race would be Top 10 if you manage to avoid trouble on Lap 1. Do that for an evening and you’ll have plenty of points.

Then all you have to do is check the leaderboards each day and if you’re about to fall out of the Top 50% do another few races to bump up your score.

The first few races were rough until that one problematic player left (or got banned? A few of us reported him after each race) but after that it went pretty well. I wasn’t going to race for long but after joining you and the LMRs in Party Chat I ended up doing 4 hours.

Hopefully all of the recent complaints about crashers will bring the issue forward in Turn 10’s eyes so that they can look into cleaning lobbies further. Leagues help but right now there are a lot of inexperienced people causing trouble, some of which is deliberate.

You were pretty rapid at Watkins Glen. I managed to break free from the pack and secure 4th but by the time I had done so you guys were miles ahead.

I actually reckon the cars are really well-matched. There have been stunning times set by the fastest guys in both the Nissan and the McLaren on the same tracks, and the Lola is fast around some. Not seen anyone really tear it up in the Chaparral, but I guess that’s because it looks like a clown car

I appreciate the opportunity turn 10 has given us to compete for a unicorn car in forza 6. I missed those from forza four. However, I have barely participated in leagues because every time I check on what leagues are available they are s class or higher cars which are gosh darn near uncontrollable without assists. I am in the elite tier I guess because of my regular online racing but I wish they would add in some lower class leagues. Like a c class capped trams am series or BTCC Homologated cars capped at b class. The can am series is so inaccurate to me just because to be competitive I’m having to run TCS on which those race drivers never had. It kinda spoils the fun when I have to use skill numbing assists to keep up. Thank you for the opportunity though, hopefully the next one will be a lower class car so that I can compete comfortably.

At least it has DRS

Dying to race leagues again as this week both leagues have my favourite classes, but can’t connect for the third week now. ):

There’s Unicorn cars in FM6?

If you finish in the top 50% of the can am league you will be given a can am Ferrari that you cannot buy regularly. It’s something new this month but it’s basically a unicorn.

I have raced in every normal league since the start and I can honestly say that the three races I have done for this Can-Am league have been the worst experience I have had on Forza 6 outside of the general hoppers. All three races there were multiple pile ups, revenge take outs and corner cutting, some of which caused and done by a driver from one of the top teams. A lot of the incidents also seems to be caused by the fastest drivers being impatient and forcing there way through instead of waiting and making the passes cleanly. Its nice too see more people in the normal league, but if they can’t be bothered race properly I would happily see them go back to the ghost league

So far I have mixed feelings about the Can-Am league pinnacle division, though i can say that racing is getting slightly better than it was on Friday and Saturday, which were wreck-fests. On the plus side, I got to race against some of the best racers in Forza, along with Mechberg and Jonk1969 (who he even said in game chat that the wrecking was ridiculous), and I know I’m not the best racer out there, in fact I am about average, but I’m having fun taking part even if there are times where I’m forced to back out of the race because my driving is not good enough or the lobby is too chaotic to race in.

Just finished a 4 hour stint in Elite League with my M8B. Ranked around 30th overall. Can’t wait till tomorrow to see how far I fall.

Hi, I’m PttyBlue43. I’ve been playing the Forza Motorsports Franchise since Forza 2. I usually race in R-Class and I’m good, not the best, but good. I’ve been known to get under people skins because I’m really aggressive and I say what I feel needs to be said. I paint 98% of the cars I race and I even have a Youtube channel showcasing all the stupid and amazing things that happen on this game but Enough about me.

I was informed Yesterday that there was a Can Am League that would last for the month of January and that every person in the Top 50 in each week would get the 1971 Ferrari 312 PB. I was really annoyed when I found this out but I mellowed out after awhile.

I log on today and I’m invited to a party by good friend THEGOLDAPOLLO. He tells me that he is doing the league and is having fun. I hop into a lobby and start off bad. Five or so races later, I’m finishing 2nd to the man that is Number #1 in my league, DJ Lime.

Now, even though I’m not winning, I’m having so much fun. Even though the best cars are the M8B and the R382, the competition is immense. Crossovers, Inside Dives, Bump N Runs and Hanging it Around the Outside are just a few of the maneuvers I’ve seen been done on competition.

I’ve seen people I recognize from all over the community, racing for different reasons. I’ve seen STELLA STIG, SweedishThunder and RaceBoy77 to name a few. A whole bunch of Forza Clans and a few potheads…

My only problem is that I’m 15. I can’t play in school so I’m at a disadvantage. So this is how I see the league at the moment and what I would fix.

Pros:
Competitive Racing
A motive to play the Game
Meeting Clean Racers

Cons:
Cheating (Corner Cutting, Changing Regions)
Dirty Drivers
Bad Track Selection

What I would Change:
No Rain/Night Tracks (Can Am never raced in the Rain or at Night)
No Street/Fantasy Circuits (Doesn’t work with these cars)
Top 75 Get the Prize (Getting into the Top 100 is easy, Getting into the Top 50 isn’t…)
Time should go from 3:00 ET to 10:00 ET (Most People can play during this time)

These are my opinions.

It’s the top 50% not top 50 places on the LB, also for me it’s saying a time it ends and starts but seems to be up and running 24hrs for me.

The can am don’t need tcs to be competitive, but does help when getting banged around in traffic.

I think there’s been plenty of lower class.

Had a tricky session today, sometimes I would have good battles and races but a lot of the time I’m simply trying to avoid everybody else. It’s clear to me that a lot of Pinnacle players are racing as if other cars don’t exist, as if it’s a Ghost League. Many also clipping people alongside them and not paying attention to cars nearby.

The bigger numbers are great, I like full lobbies. I just wish the racing was a little more respectful at times.
