Yeah the handling makes it largely untouchable on most tracks…but I was keeping up to a lot of them last night in my 427 Cobra.
Please fix the forums and the lobby chat. Fixing the chat may not guarantee commutation between drivers in race, but it can’t hurt.
Is there any car that can touch the Alfa? I thought I would be liking this league but meh.
Extremely disappointed that the devs in charge of these leagues did not exclude the Alfa 33. In the lower divisions, the lack of skill of most drivers will equalize it somewhat with the field. But in Pinnacle where even the slow guys are fast, the Alfa 33 will be the clear top car, by a mile. It has the handling and acceleration of a car that SHOULD BE IN S-CLASS. I will not be taking part, and I’m certain many feel the same way.
Yet another example that they are out of touch with the game in some very strange ways. Not excluding the Alfa 33, including night tracks in the F1 league (F1 cars don’t have headlights), etc.
This could have been a great league with lots of cool cars to use. But no, Turn10 simply must base these leagues on “divisions” even if clearly overpowered and cheap cars are included (and the Alfa 33 is the most broken of them all).
And league numbers continue to drop. Wonder why.
Lockeye86 —Preach on brother I hear ya!
PJ what happened in that last race at Road America? I came around the alt section and you were face first in the tyre wall. Not complaining though, game me my first win of the night.
I got a wheel on the grass at the exit, and couldn’t correct it in time. Happened twice and once I had a third crash on the straight I called it a night.
I saw you had a #346 livery and backed out to look up the other replicas. All of them have the same error (default font for the numbers) which gives me reason to continue with my own replica. If all goes to plan I’ll have that livery done tonight or tomorrow, the car has a surprising amount of paint glitches.
I race the 33 because I like the way it handles and almost never venture out of B/600.
In a competitive environment however people will pick the best tool for the job; that’s the very essence of “playing to win”.
In any case I couldn’t care less if the entire field was Stradales so long as the racing was fun and clean, and it has been both so far, at least in Pinnacle.
What ever happened to trying to win these races using the cars that aren’t the best in this division as a challenge to see how good you are. I went into a league lobby and all 13 players had the 33 Stradale and they all stayed in them for over 5 races in a row. Am I the only one who prefers to use the slow cars to try and beat the 33 Stradales as a personal challenge. It’s more gratifying for me to use the oddball cars to try and get 1st in these leagues. I can never get myself to ever run the 33 Stradale online or in rivals mode. I hate the 33 Stradale and cars in Forza that dominate most tracks and the 33 Stradale dominates most tracks in A Class by a big margin. I refuse to use it. Pity the majority are too greedy and need to win every race for their egos lol
I finally got a chance to run in the collision league last night. It was an absolute blast even with mostly full lobbies. After the first lap everyone would settle in and have some good battles.
I will have to say that I am glad that I am in Elite division as we don’t seem to follow the trend I keep reading here in Pinnacle. There was an even mix most of the time between alfa, miura, p330, and shelby users last night. That made for some good fun for me as I could just work on racing skill and try to compare where I am at with other guys running the miura or shelby since those were the two I used most. I like the 250lm ferrari, but it wasn’t very quick on most tracks.
Overall the alfa may be the most balanced choice but the p330’s were spanking them on tracks like Daytona, and the shelby’s won a few like Bathhurst. Best I could manage was 2nd at Spa night in the miura which there was only 9 in the lobby at the time due to the disconnects. Only 3 disconnects for me last night, the first tace, and then two back to back trying to load hockenheim and then laguna seca.
I’ve been having a hard time keeping up with 2 guys in pinnacle (you know who you are!) I’m about a second off their pace. It’s good practice and good fun in trying to catch them.
All in all I’ve been having a blast in these alfas, I would like to tune some of the others but my work commitments mean I only have about 3 hour of xbox time, and I spend that racing.
And to be competitive I use what others use, it’s not about an ego or greed for winning.
And I too would like to see some wet races in this week’s leagues, played 2 nights now and not seen one yet.
Yeah I’m sure the racing is fine and all. But I really, really enjoy being able to use different cars. Using the same car every race just gets old for me.
I have just come back to Forza after missing the last couple of titles. I love the idea of the leagues but unfortunately it was a massive bumper car race. On the plus side I was using the 67 Miura and it was pretty competitive, certainly I was finishing in the top 3 or 4 at least.
I played the B class, that was a bit more fun without people ramming you off the track. Used the '11 VW Scirocco with my own tune and was consistently 1st or 2nd, great little car, struggled a little for top speed against the DLC Eclipse.
Everyone I used to race seems to have gone but I liked the leagues.
I’ll admit, it gets a little boring racing a load of red 33 Stradale’s all the time but it’s satisfying when I beat some of them in my 330 P4 (if I’m not forcing myself into a completely avoidable accident, that is)
If you’re looking to get promoted to a higher Division (where drivers are faster but potentially cleaner), I suspect all of the Leagues use the same TrueSkill ranking. In that case you could focus on Ghost racing, getting higher results and increasing your rank enough to get promoted next week.
That’s why I drove a purple one on Sunday
You have a livery on yours currently, I’ll let you off.
Tried the ghost leagues last night for the first time.
I can honestly say It was some of the best fun I have had in FM6 so far.
Since it was my first time running the leagues, I am in the grassroots division, and while most of the racers were flying into walls on turns, I had a few great races where it was down to the wire at the finish.
I really think the ghost leagues are worth a shot as you can get some good multiplayer racing in and it really can be fun without that feeling that you will be taken out at some point in the race haha. I know if I fly off it is only myself to blame.
Cant wait to get some more time in with them and hope that Forza will give the ghost leagues more defined car classes like the other league.
It’s a work-in progress. Normally I don’t race with unfinished liveries but since this one’s pretty simple I wanted to see how it looked on-track.
I battled that 330 for a good minute or so before realising it was yours
I agree, the Alfa probably shouldn’t have been included in this league because it’s such a dominant car.
A lobby full of the same road car gets old quick. The Alfa is much better than anything else at everything but top speed, which doesn’t even matter most of the time.
I haven’t had a chance to run in this league yet, but I would think the racing must be very clean if the majority of the lobby is using such a great handling car. At least in the top divisions?
I don’t have an alfa so if I do get a chance I will probably run whatever I have in my garage that handles well.
