I am going to enjoy the Historic Sportscar League racing!

Sorry Pinnacle guys but another one I won;t be racing in. I’m so far off the pace in Pinnacle it’s just not worth back of the pack race after race.

It is if there are others at the back of the pack that race clean. Just means your skill levels are similar. I had some awesome back of the pack and mid pack battles. I didn’t care where I placed because it was a battle to get and hold each position. That is what makes it enjoyable for me. If I win bonus. Who knows… We might be at the back together and have an awesome race… I have also had people beat me in my own tunes. Their skills are just better than mine but, it gives me a reason to improve.

Well ive had some truely epic scraps in the SUV league with some awesome drivers. If you boys are reading this then you know who you are
Cant wait to put the fire up the Miura and give it a hiding
See you in the pits gentlemen!

Notably, the six hour league windows are back. Always a great thing.

My first impression is that the Alfa 33 will be the go-to car for the Sportscar league.

I might do a session of the Ghosts as well since I specialise in B/600 racing, but I won’t do much since I prefer “real racing”.

I suspect you may be right but, I think I will tune a couple of the cheaper cars first. Thanks for keeping up with this.

Well, I’ll guess ill be seeing some of you later today in the Historic Sportscar league, looks awesome.

The B600 league looks okay, but being a ghost league it is more like time attack than racing.

The Ghost League is FWD only by the way.

For the Historics I’m using an Alfa 33 set up by BAM Flawless; it floats through corners and accelerates pretty well. Certainly keeps up with the other Alfas in Pinnacle right now (of which there are many).

I haven’t come across a pure speed track yet but when I do I’ll need to look into another car, the Alfa tops out at 155.

Disconnections are happening again, but one thing I noticed was that 2 of them were on the same track in the rotation: Hockenheim Short.

That first session was productive however, got a car I’m happy to use all week and ended up in 2nd place overall on the boards.

I want to race, but Seahawks are playing…

So I thought I’d dip my hand in the online racing water today… big mistake!

In the span of an hour I managed to complete 3 races

If i wasn’t getting rammed off the track (in elite division) then i was being disconnected constantly

I think I’ll go back to taking photos lol

It’s always like that in leagues on the first day of a new class from what I have noticed. Just be patient and wait for the week days in elite. Racing is usually much better after every one settles in on a particular car and tune they can handle.
I had been running ghost leagues lately since I didn’t care for the suv and well couldn’t get a good feel for the 70’s f1 the prior week. But, now that the cat is out of the bag that points are awarded for finishing position mainly with bonus only for beating someone of a higher tru skill has led to the lobbies I was in today being almost 85%-90% corner cutting. Sadly, even from those who usually drove clean.
Guess it’s time to focus on racecraft which can best be learned in the collision leagues anyhow. Best of luck and hope you will give the leagues another shot. They sure could use some more clean racers.

The Historics was pretty clean from the few hours of it that I drove; everybody’s using the Alfa 33 so it’s essentially a spec series. With the cars being even on performance it’s easier to race with the others as you have a good idea of what their car is doing, and the races so far have been won on talent as opposed to “who has the best car/tune”.

One comment about the track rotation however: I haven’t seen any Wet circuits come up yet. This seems to be a recurring thing in Leagues which is a shame as I’d love to see how well the Pinnacle racers adapt to the conditions.

Just did a couple of races using the 330 P4. Not only was it ridiculously fun to drive, it was competitive too (a double podium finish).

Can see this being a good week for leagues.

Played some of the historic league using my recently tuned DBR1. The whole room had Alfa 33 Stradales but I refuse to use a leaderboard car and it’s a good challenge for me as if I run a 33 Stradale as well I’ll wipe them all in pinnacle league lol. I still managed to win 6 of the 7 races and my DBR1 only has 5.4 handling was good fun trying to stay in front of all the 33 Stradales.

Shelby Daytona is also relatively competitive…i find I can out break the Alfa 33s…which can be a problem sometimes they stop VERY early.

Must say, I love these Historic Sportscars. This is my favorite car class to-date…all the cars are competitive too (for the most part)…contrary to the above comments, I saw a good amount of diversity in peoples car choice (at least last night in the lobby’s I was racing in).
I bought about 7 of the cars in this division and tuned them all…what a blast to drive they are.
I settled on the Alfa 33, the Shelby 427 Cobra, and the Lambo Muira.
The Shelby Cobra is my fav of the three…I ran it almost exclusively last night for 4 hours straight and did very well…didn’t win too many races, but placed well in most and usually was in the top 5% of lap times and had the best lap time on quite a few tracks as well…what a beauty she is.
Love the sound of these older cars, they are just raw, pure, unadulterated fun and I enjoy the look of most of them as well.
Not to mention the new league times…the 6 hour lobby’s are fantastic…I can finally go to bed at a decent time and still have logged a few hours of race time before I call it a night.

I will be sad to see this league/car division close shop…but I will enjoy it while it lasts!

Just call it the Alfa 33 league thats pretty much what everyone is using. Leaderboard cars should be left out of the leagues to force people to try something different. I myself prefer the merc slr
