This game really is broken

Nope. I have the blue Xbox one s. Haven’t had a single problem at all. Not one CTD. I was beginning to think I was the only one. :joy:

I have a standard Xbox One and I have not had any technical problems with it either. Runs like a clock. I can understand the PC issues and trying to get something to run properly, especially, if using DirectX because the video driver needs to be done properly for DirectX to function correctly. Like I always say… when in doubt, swap the video driver out.

I have had 3 crashes to dashboard and apart from that everything is fine, maybe the laggy garage as mentioned above.

You folks who don’t get crashes, do you play multiplayer? That’s where my crashes happen. A-Class Hopper (my favourite), happens on the 4th or 5th race guaranteed. Mostly when it’s loading the podium’s clown suits, before I get paid.
& yes, I’m using a GoW4 Xbone S.

Yes. I’m spending more time in career mode now w/long races, but I’ve played online too. Zero crashes in either case. Some lagginess here and there but that’s about it.

Yeah I don’t multiplay. All the years I’ve spent in these forums I feel like all I see is multiplayer issues. Seems like one big pain in the butt after another.

I’m on the same console as you and also having CTD issues, majority in multiplayer just as you described. I did the whole uninstall-reinstall process and it seemed to get a little better but now it crashes every 1-2 hours not every 2-3 online races. I get longer stints between CTDs if the lobbys are small (12 or less players I’ve noticed).

In other Fortza news, starting next week a “rock solid” $500 might solve some of these laggy/choppy menus and maybe, just maybe the CTD issue.

Had about 6 CTDs/Disconnects tonight all on A-Class Hopper…

I’ve had XB1 crashes.

I have crashes on PC in two areas:

  1. At credit rewards screen after a race (you know, where they just added the new VIP function …)

  2. While the track is loaded, if I am selecting a car and try to move through the selection menu too quickly. Easy to do considering how horribly it lags.

Crashes in these two places happen way too often.

I have had crashes at other times too, but nowhere near as frequently as these two.

I have been enjoying driving on my PC but I’m just about ready to switch back to my Xbox.

On Xbox One, as far as I can tell, the Single Player mode works fine. I’ve never had any issues in it.

On multiplayer, here are the issues and they are reproducible nearly every time.

  • When in party chat you will get involuntarily booted to game chat when entering the multiplayer lobby.
  • The Drivatar “pee pee” dance animation will get slower and choppier after every single multiplayer race.
  • Car selection screen slows down more and more after a race to the point where you can barely choose another car in time for the next race.
  • After 3-4 online races, the game will crash to dashboard.

If you only play single-player, you will never see these issues.

People buy this game to only race against the AI, where’s the challenge in that lol.

not everyone plays game for the challenge. life is hard enough, sometimes you just want to drive a car around a track for an hour and not think too hard about it.

Comment of the year. Cause this is quite true.

Also, some people – like me – don’t want to have to deal with the bugs, griefers, crashers, and general headaches that seem to always be associated with MP. SP FTW.

+1 for this. I tried multi-player several times, and have rage quit before the end of the first race every time. FH3 isn’t so bad, as there’s the playground games to play, but racing is a crashfest. If I want to play dodgems, I’ll go to the fairground

Exactly.

I’ve had easier wins in multiplayer than in single - random grid size and start position vs packed fields with mid-pack starts will do that…

In single player set the grid to random and it seems to give a balanced start position either 24 right or 22 left LOL. It does move around a bit with some pole inc. If you feel shortchanged then quit the race at first turn and restart. only takes 15-30 seconds and usually puts you in a far better position like 4th. Just wish there was a favorites button where you could add say 4 races with car, track set up that you liked most instead of going through everything again each race.

Heard of Rivals? Leaderboards?

It’s been in a few Forzas and has no AI and isn’t really multiplayer either.

Also there are people who paint, take photos, drift and do lots of things that are not multiplayer or AI related.
