Just got an Xbox One and Forza 5 (tired of waiting for Gran Turismo 7 and Driveclub wasn’t doing it for me) and I love the driving mechanics and physics, but the physics are quite a bit tougher and less forgiving than say Forza 4. I think they’re on the same level as say Gran Turismo 5/6 or Assetto Corsa for PC. Anyone feel the same?
Never played the others but once u find a good setup there is plenty of grip. What class are you running? If you tune ur own cars post a tune that u made and we can give u some pointers
A class, S class and R class. Have cars in the P and X class but havent tried them yet (got the top gear pack included with the game and I bought the VIP pack and was gifted a whole bunch of cars). The hot hatch D class is pretty easy even on higher difficulty, but for example with the RUF Yellowbird, the wheel-spin is insane if you don
t throttle very carefully. With the Lamborghini Aventador, even though its four wheel drive, I can spin out pretty easily if I
m not careful (I have no driving assists on).
On Driveclub definately agreed. Also just started FM5 and find it still relatively easy, well at least when using some of the available tunes.
Fair to say forza4 was easier, I don’t think GT5/6 is as difficult. Fm5 was a steep learning curve but now I’ve gotten used to it its far more enjoyable than any other sims I’ve played. I turn off all assists now and only use cockpit cam and do ‘ok’, just wish getting tunes was easier.
It’s up to u but we do have a couple of tuning garages letting u know what cars we have shared. Look at the bottom of my signature and and u should see 2 different links u can click on for our garage. Enjoy and stay clean out there
the FM5 drive model is a lot more realistic and harder than every other console simulation
i dont find the AI that hard but its grindy and on most tracks, gives you a good run for your money for those 3 laps
i dont do any tuning except for gearbox final drive and i do limited mods but i do like the race tyres
if you come from lesser fidelity drive models its hard but once you ‘crack the code’, its not bad
btw i drive simulation all off, all aids off
i actually think forza 4 has better a drive model than every other simultion on console apart from forza 5
I also have recently purchased an Xbox one and forza 5 and I would have to agree that it is quite a lot more challenging than any of the previous forzas on the 360!
My advice to anyone struggling would be to pick a car that you have driven in previous forzas (or other racing games if you are new to the franchise). This allowed me to familiarise myself with the new mechanics whilst driving a car that I new how to control.
Another thing to do is test out community tunes if like myself your tuning is less than satisfactory. Hope this helps anyone struggling!
I’d advise starting with grip tunes when learning the game. Not tuning a car will seriously compromise its handling.
Ferrari 360 CS in A class is a good place to start - a good grip tune and the car is great to drive.
S2000 grip tunes in C class are good starters
Slow in, fast out.
Use the rumbles for optimum braking and throttle usage. The rumbles really help with telling when you’re about to really mess up, especially with losing traction.
It will take a while to get used to though, but once you do the physics will keep you coming back from time to time.
The Holden sedan stone cold stock is a great drive and not that bad to learn with.
Where’s lou?
