This community is dead, we have to change

The main issue is Xbox One and FM5.

I am a points drifter on FM4, because I am not good at tandem and need to get better. I am a decent tuner, but again I need to get better, I love the Forza games, and they can always improve on stuff, but they try. At least Turn10 and Microsoft try to improve. People need to stop arguing as Aero said, and yes it gets annoying, but I thank people like him for giving us points so we can have our fun.

I personally think part of the reason for the community falling apart is Turn 10’s fault, not just the players.

It can all be brought back the lack of User Created Public Lobbies. I met all my favorite drifters in public lobbies. I tend to be a very laid back and chill player. I don’t take things too seriously, but I also don’t act like a fool either. This type of personality opened doors for me to drift with people who were obviously far better than me. Since I was nice, they tolerated me and helped me become a much better drifter.

Now what do I get? Random Public lobbies with X Class cars ruining races for people. I have blocked so many players, it is getting hard for me to find lobbies, the exact opposite of the way this should work.

What does this have to do with the forums? Well, if all we have is these aggravating public lobbies to join, outside of private lobbies, then people stop playing. If you don’t play the game, you likely will not be visiting the forums either. So, we have Turn 10 in part to blame.

As for the attitude of posters and the whole, everything being a competition thing. It was easier to have a hive mind of like minded players when the community was stronger. Since it is more difficult to find, and play with good drivers now, it has become difficult to police these troll drivers. They are becoming the majority, while those who take this more seriously, are becoming a minority.

im sure the low community numbers is due to half the forza community (myself included) being restrained to last gen consoles :S

give us a year and the community will be fine

I dunno man, it’s been 8 months already. Not sure if 4 more months will bring in more players to a year old game.

Perhaps with the price drop of the Xbox One, this Christmas will bring more players in, but I fear they won’t be playing Forza 5.

It sucks, hopefully the community will make a rebound.

I made a thread like this a year ago. All of you laughed at me, then my thread came true. Good luck because you will need it. The points thing I will agree with. The big problem is people need to mature. Stop being sore losers and those that know me already grasp the story. Running comps turns into babysitting because they cry on just about everything. I really don’t see this community going anywhere for a long while. I honestly say tandem leave points guys alone, and let them be. Same goes for the points people. Once that is settle, youtubers need to start supporting us. Aero,Spitsy are just about the big names that has contributed, but the others know what I’m talking about. You don’t have to give out anything, but it would be a plus. All I ask is just some recognition. Just clearing this up before another video is made of nonsense. link to the http://legacy.forums.forza.net/forums/thread/6216863.aspx

Are you expecting some sort of fan fair? A ā€œCongratulationsā€ banner?

Are you proud that you were right that a good community is dwindling away?

Either way, instead of a post about a ā€œI told you soā€ How about you offer some empathy?

You will never get it man, and I edited the post. So go read it bud. This is the type of stuff I’m talking about. BTW I already got my chips ahoy

I want some chips :frowning:

I think we can all agree, the separation needs to end. I honestly don’t even know when it began. I have only been a member of this community for 2 years now. But I didn’t see such a separation when I started playing. It seemed to have crept up out of no where. Or perhaps I was too busy having fun, to give a crap about what some kids we saying on the forums.

It is pretty easy to tell who are the good members and bad members of the community. Like most internet trolls, we have to learn to let it go. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

@ Based Bankai, Thanks for the edit on that post. It is far more constructive and I understand your point now. I read the OP in the thread you linked as well. Wish it had been taken more seriously back then, and more people adhered to the warnings. Obviously your predictions have come to reality and here we are suffering from it.

The best we can do, as the logical, level headed members of the community, and I mean everyone in this thread and some others who haven’t joined it yet, is to lead by example. Don’t fall into the trap of some of these pests. Just get their threads taken care of by Mods and do our best to be the mentors this community needs.

If you recall, so did I. I think I even commented on your post. Running a comp is about running the best comp you can. I always told you just to ban people who started problems but it never happened. You’re too nice.

You should go talk to most people now, and they don’t find me nice anyone. I have banned a total of 12 people out of my comps. More yeah, but I don’t have time to be calling my internet provider because of a crybaby. Regardless of any organizer of Forza. You still have put up with idiots that will do some stupid stuff. You can’t tell them like it is or they will start crying. Let me say a couple in the bunch are in the mid 20’s with kids. I just wonder if he is the man of the house or his kids. Yeah you are right and not I’m going to lie. I was nice in the past because idiots didn’t come into play until Forza 4.

Yeah, I got DDoS’d a lot too when I was modding chat for VFD. People are so immature. My point stands.

There are 2 main problems that need to change before the community can get back on track and one them we can change.

First problem plain and simple is us. The community right now is so broken right now it’s just crazy, I mean come on how can a community full of DRIFTERS be fighting with each other when our community as a whole is being pushed out of the game period. We spend more time arguing amongst ourselves than we do actually trying to get fixes for our community and that’s not good for any of us. Now I’m not saying we need to all love each other and be friends but damn folks just a little bit of respect from all parties would go a long way and would keep the arguments to a minimum so we could focus on the real problem at hand which bring me to my next point

The game itself. Seeing as the game is riddled with flaws(just search and you’ll find) and how much content has be stripped it has turned many of the player/drifters away from the game and because of this and word of mouth many people who don’t have the system/game yet aren’t going to pick it up because who wants to spend $80-600 dollars on a game they may not like.

Now we may never get the game to be the way we want it but I know that if we all can’t find some common ground and try to at least fix the community then it’s going to die off and if that happens we all lose cause without this community there is no need for Turn10 do have anything drifting related in the game.

I said this in another thread, everybody needs to check their ego at the door, and this community will thrive.

Any of the veterans of the forums, myself included are more than willing to help anyone out in the community who wants it.

Will this place ever populate the way it used to? Probably not, but its up to us to keep this place going, new and old, we have to work together.

Don’t make this thread about game issues. We all know that FM5 was a let-down for the drifting community, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make the best of what we’ve got. The game isn’t the problem anymore. A mediocre game doesn’t make horrible people, horrible people make a mediocre game, and Forza’s community was its entire selling point.

I’d buy an Xbox One for Forza 5 if I had the money, but I dont. A majority of people on the forums are in similar situations too. That’s a major factor I think. That and just the regression of the old school members because of the whole points vs tandem situation.

Speaking for myself, I’ve been rubbed the wrong way by turn 10 and the community and I feel like if I get back into sim racing that it’d have to be on P.C or I’d buy a wheel and go ham on time attack on Gran Turismo to try and make GT Academy or something.

Forza just doesn’t draw me in like it used to

I agree with the concept of this thread… as a player of Forza dating back to the original Forza, after a little sabbatical I think it’s time I get back to my roots and playing with the community again. I had some amazing times with many people on this site years ago. It would be nice to have that same sense of community and brotherhood as it was before.

If there is anything I can do to help out, count me in!

you have many valid points there Aero. honestly its been quite some time since i have posted in these forums. but to be quite honest what it really boils down to if people really dont want the forums to continue to be dead then we all need to take it upon ourselves and be the change we would like to see. short and sweet. naturally with this being a public video game forum you’re bound to get young kids and even older people that are just plain ignorant and theres no way around it sadly. thats where being the bigger person comes into play.
