There are more resolutions that just 1080 and 4k. Please don't leave us in the cold like Apex.

We know how well Apex went. It was pretty much geared for people who either have 4k or 1080 and that’s it. Please don’t make the same mistake with Forza Horizon 3. I bought a racing setup to play racing games to their full potential, not play them on a monitor with black lines on the sides or top and bottom. Please optimize your game so there isn’t even more backlash from the PC community. A huge chunk of the gaming community plays on ultrawides and multiple monitor setups, especially the PC racing sim communities. Just look at the most recent steam hardware survey from last month…

Although i agree that games should support a variety of aspect ratios not just 16:9.
your stats you put in really are not helping you out.

These are estimates
SINGLE MONITOR SETUPS @ 4:3 = ~6%
SINGLE MONITOR SETUPS @ 16:9 = ~70%
SINGLE MONITOR SETUPS @ 16:10 = ~6%

Roughly the same amount of people are using 4:3 as 16:10 doesn’t seem to be much reason to spend lots of man hours to support 16:10

Yes i know it isn’t 16:9 and 16:10 it’s 32’s or 48’s but you can look past that.
MULTI MONITOR SETUPS @ 16:9 = ~33%
MULTI MONITOR SETUPS @ 16:10 = ~10%

So the figures are better with multi monitor setups, however, a niche market it still is and thus not everything will support it.
Do not expect an ‘arcade’ racer to support triple monitor setups. They are for hardcore simulations where you need lifelike viewing angles .

I like numbers

There are more than 125 millions accounts at Steam. 6%=7,5 millions, even 0.38% of 2560*1080 is a hell of a lot of potential buyers.

Fair point, i sure didn’t think of it that way.

What I’ve found is that ports to PC seldom support a wide variety of resolutions, because 16:9 is the target of consoles. It sucks because people with insane setups can’t use them to their full capacity.
It is really cool seeing this triple Ultra-wide setups that are immense, maybe FM7 they’ll introduce it, hopefully…
So far it doesn’t look promising, will have to see IF (MASSIVE IF) T10/PG want to tell us about any of this once they have more time on their hands after FH3 has been released.

They’ve already confirmed the game would support 21:9: http://forums.forza.net/turn10_postsm518618_21-9-support-confirmed--post--6.aspx#post_518618

Multiple resolutions and aspect ratios are confirmed as supported. Please research before posting threads like this. You’ve wasted a lot of your own time compiling that list all for nothing as they’ve already said they’ll support many options. I game in 16:9, 16:10, 21:9 and 37:9 (It’s an odd monitor combo but works well!). I have issues sometimes but usually they are fixed by editing an ini or applying a fix. But this won’t be needed as they’ve already confirmed at least up to 21:9 support.
Go check out WSGF.org for anyone wanting to play more wide/ultrawide aspect ratios.

I don’t think I’ve wasted any time, it was a simply copy and paste. As for research I did enough to know that there has never been any mention of supporting multi monitor resolutions, AMD Eyefinity, Nvidia Surround and the current version of APEX does not support this. The only info we have is that 21:9 is supported. That’s great but not enough. What about people running triple monitors?

While I do not disagree that the PC deserves the attention to fully utilize its significant configurability, I’m not trying to argue that, what I think people fail to appreciate here is that:

  1. Forza is still an Xbox franchise.
  2. Play Anywhere is the extension (rebranding?) of the Unified Windows Platform (UWP).

AGAIN, I’m not saying Forza should only be for Xbox and PC can stuff it.

But from a production standpoint PlayAnywhere is a framework for transferring Xbox One games to PC. This is not a PC build of the game, its fundamentally a 1:1 copy so you can seamlessly transition between all of your fancy Microsoft© products.

This is great, this is branching out, but I think the Dev team’s first priority is a) making a good game, and getting it to the masses. UWP/Play Anywhere needs a lot of work, look at Gears of War Ultimate and Quantum Break. This is not Turn10s or Playground Game’s responsibility.

Also, I too like numbers and that % statistic cannot be applied to the raw steam accounts number. That is % of responders, which will fundamentally be a significantly smaller portion of the account base, which also does not represent actual people. There are dummy accounts, banned accounts, all sorts of things. Lastly, that % means nothing without context, while I think you have a strong argument that ultrawide is great for “sim” games, you cannot assume that even half of those people with wide monitors like racing games. Racing games are a niche market compared to action games.

I’m not saying anyone is wrong, I think we all need to take a little perspective on this Play Anywhere thing and what it really means in terms of PC gaming. This is not a traditional PC game.

It’s not a 1:1 copy - the XBO version is locked to 30fps while the PC version is unlocked and in 4K, and I think the wheel support is different. There are probably several other major differences as well.
