The very poor sounds of the Lotus E23 and the Mclaren MP 4-4

me as a longtime and harcore F1 fan am pretty am emberassed that the sounds of those 2 cars are so damn bad. the E23 sounds far too high compared to the real E23. and the mp4/4, well, the engine noises in the game are almost identical to the indycar sounds of forza 6, just some small changes, while the real mp4/4 sounds completly different. and while i am driving the mp4/4, it is so anoying that it is off putting me. i really would like to know why the sounds of those 2 cars are so different compared to the real noises. i hope that everyone will understand, that i am not ranting, but just dissapointed that something very cool isnt as cool as it could be. and i hope they can change the sounds in a patch or something. thing is i do like most of the engine noises of the game.

I hate the sound of the MP4/4 it sounds nothing like the real car, its just shared engine audio from other cars.
Such a shame as Senna’s car was one of the best engine sounds in F1 history.

F1 2013 had a much better sound.

I’ve only done a handful of laps in the MP4/4 but to me it sounds a lot like the Honda IndyCars in this game, with a slightly different turbo whistle.

I guess that’s understandable since it’s got a Honda engine in the back.

Huh?

The Lotus E23 sound is rather good. It’s not quite as raspy as the real thing but the note is excellent.

well i dont find it as good. note is too high, downshifts and the engine sound when you brake are bad. turbo sound is pretty okay though. but it is far too loud and high compared to how the engines are. although i absolutly hate the current engines and sounds, a car in an game should represent the car in a realistic matter.

I was in Austin for the grand prix a few weeks ago and the new engines sound amazing. Everyone complaining about lack of noise either haven’t heard them in real life or are just acting like fan boys.

The E23 in the game is pretty close to the real thing. I wish there was more sputtering at low RPMs in real life, the anti-lag is awesome.

T10 does the best they can, I don’t get why everyone has to knock them all the time. It’s far from easy to reproduce the sounds.

Pretty sure you should listen to some video of the real car or go see it yourself in real life. It’s note is pretty much spot on, naturally cockpit sounds will be somewhat different to sounds from outside the car i.e more drivetrain and braking noise but the engine sound is good.

well, i watch alot of f1 on tv, and then the sounds are not the same on the forza version and the real life version. i hadnt had a chance to watch the new turbo engined f1 cars at the track though. i unfortunatly dont have the money this moment to go to an f1 race. but even if i say okay the e23 sounds are okay, the mp4/4 is still very poor. and i really hope to get an answer from t10 why this is, or if it will be changed.

WA HA HA HA HA HA!

Dude, you’re hilarious!

why? yes i know t10 isnt a company that answers alot, but if you dont ask it wont happen at all

Yes I was super dissapointed with the sound of the MP4/4. They totally just re-used the Indycar sounds with some tweaks. Why include the car if you aren’t going to put any effort into it to model it accurately? This was the only good car in the whole pack too!

It’s a shame too, I was actually thinking of buying the MP4/4, but after all these reports I’m going to stick to the base game for now.

give me one reason why they cant accompany the mp4/4 with the mp4/5. the sound is glorious . McLaren Honda MP4/5 (1989) vol.2 - 3.5L V10 NA Engine - YouTube

Looks and sounds beyond fantastic …

well, project cars has realistic sounds. but they have an horrible downshifting sound effect, and i thought maybe turn ten could learn where they did excellent with the sound and what they didnt so well on.

I agree… not all of PCARS’ sounds are accurate and the downshifting sounds are almost cartoony.

I am unhappy with how the supercharger sounds when equipped to vehicles? Where is the supercharger whine? Too quiet in my opinion!

I thought I was the only one that noticed it. I quit supercharging cars.

Honestly they should pump up the MP4/4. In reallife it sounds like nothing else with it’s high pitched scream and incredible overruns. In game it sounds just like anything else. And although sounds have improved. V12’s and V10’s don’t sound nearly as awesome as in reallife…
