The track limits are fudged

I generally use the clean race mods at most races and have noticed that the track limits from one track to another are broken. Go to one track n u can get all 4 wheels off the track n still be classed as clean n others u only need to put 2 wheels off n u lose ur clean lap/race.
Some tracks like cota have corners where all 4 wheels off the track is fine n some corners where if u put 2 over u get penalised.

Sort this inconsistency out please

If the FIA can’t enforce track limits consistently how do you expect a game developer to?! (See the American GP a couple of weeks ago)

All joking aside I do agree with you some consistency would be nice especially if they still plan to push esports!

Lol very true

Lol this was a bit of a chuckle but I totally agree actually, there were more than a few questionable lines taken in at Cota.

The track limits are pretty inconsistent unfortunately to the point where if I’m running the “stay on track for race” mod I have to run rewind unless it’s on a track I know the track limits to such as Road America or Long Beach. One track that’s very hard now is Yas Marina, probably over compensating for the lacklustre track limits there in FM6.

There are a few corners on the Indy GP circuit where you can go several car widths over the lines and stay clean. Then you have Prague tunnel exit where you literally can’t touch the apex without going dirty.

The left-hander into the tunnel is the same.

Spa is very inconsistent as well

I’ve noticed that the rumble strips count as being on track as well in most cases. 2 wheel in grass plus 2 wheel on rumble strips usually results in the lap remaining clean.

It’s always been completely inconsistent in every Forza game. They know and just don’t care apparently. Unless its in a Forza RC it won’t be fixed. They fixed a few in F6 at that point.

There’s one, think it’s Lime Rock, half way the track, if you touch the side curbs you get a dirty lap, ridiculous.

Track limits is another topic the guys at T10 dont understand

I noticed you can now extend much further at Hockenheim turn 1.

I think Turn 10 are just replicating track limits in real life. It’s an issue in all forms of motor racing. Watch any F1, LMP, GT race around the same tracks, they’re all extending.

I Would much rather the track limits be consistent, the white line is the edge of the track.

Second right-hand turn on Watkins Glen the sweeping bend if you even so much as touch the paint on the rumble strip don’t even need to hear/feel it and it will throw a dirty lap then congratulate you on a perfect turn.

Racing at Road America in GT cars, I kept getting dirty laps on the back straight. I was running in clean air. No Retardatars in sight. Apparently, one of the billboard signs had been knocked partly into the track. Resulting in a dirty lap each time I passed by. Was somewhat confusing till I went and watched the replay, several times. The sign was barely moved. Just enough to put the end on track…Charles

Generally if I’ve got a couple wheels on the track I’ve been safe. Somewhere at Suzuka I’m getting dirty without leaving the track, though. It must be with the chicane at the end because it’s dirtying my next laps. At Nordschleife a while ago I had my left two wheels barely go into the grass (no kerbing, most of the car on track) and it dirtied a lap that was 3.6 seconds faster than my best time.
