As far as I can tell, there is a cheating tool available for the PC version, but not the Xbox version. The person who created the cheating tool has done all the hard technical work, any idiot can now use it to cheat. OTOH, without a cheating tool being available, cheating on the Xbox would require a level of technical skill probably exceeding that which was required to create the PC cheating tool. So it seems massively more likely that anyone cheating is using the PC cheating tool rather than doing their own hacking of the Xbox.
What would be better is if they had someone check the stats and remove all those glitched/cheated numbers, and or worse case ban those who use trainers/continually exploit glitches. That or create some sort of check program to do it for them.
Getting rid of try hards is no easy task mind you.
Just saw a peel P50 clocked at 6,362.98MPH… that’s Mach 8.23!
that guy is legit. he was just cruising along in his chicken suit testing out his new Windows XP Shutdown horn on other idiot drivers, and then his wife called his cellphone and told him the kids were away and she wanted to make sexy time and told him to get home soon before the in-laws drop by.
needless to say, he obliged.
Sounds like it’s going to be like FH3 where my main focus was on the club/friends leaderboard where there weren’t any cheaters. A shame they can’t make the PC version tamperproof, but I’m not aware of any way it can be achieved in software, it would probably need some sort of extra hardware to be incorporated into PCs to support it, and even then it wouldn’t be impossible, just hard enough to stop most people (even with the Xbox, it won’t be impossible to tamper with the game, just hard enough to stop most people).
It just shows that devs haven’t put much thought into it (maybe they were naive). If there is a chance to cheat and exploit, people do it (it’s just not only in video games, but life in general).
PC is the best platform, but by the looks of it UWP has some rough edges to polish off. So isolated system, but so easy to exploit. Some heavy duty banning waves are needed until they have made their system somewhat bulletproof.
I have never payed much attention to the global leaderboards in Horizon games, because many of them are always tilted (OP car, glitches, exploits, cheating also), and just concreted to club and friends.
The first time. remove unbelievable result from leaderboard and if second time give a warning to the player.
Third time and ban the cheater.
Horizon Drag Strip speed trap has a Peel P50 leading the charts with 32,247.74 km/h, now thats enough speed to get you to the moon and beyond.
All the top 25 cars have suspect results there IMHO.
If you feel something is not quite right, you can report suspicious behaviour on the leaderboards in game.
This reminds me of FH1. a few of the speed traps in there had top speeds reaching upwards of 800mph. Obviously not possible.
But that game was on Xbox 360 only. so the idea that it was PC players goes right out the window.
In other words, this is a bug in the Horizon games that has been present since FH1. Which is reason #1 not to have global leader boards with no division for cars and classes.
console modding isnt impossible but you need to have some level of computer hardware knowledge as well as the equipment and software to do so.
to hack the PC versions theres literally a precoded application that you download from somewhere on the internet probably has a wizard installer and then you click on a entry field and set money or whatever to a million and boom it happens.
So while console modders are a thing, its nothing at all compared to the ease of click click cheat that the PC world has. I mean i dont know anything at all about game modding on PC but that didnt hinder me at all with using a hex editer to make my offline halo pc game a great laugh with banshees shooting rockets and grunts throwing ghosts
I hope that something is done in this case because the names appearing at the top are showing a clear trend that they simply dont give a stuff, they WILL cheat/exploit on every thing imaginable. These people deserve to lose ALL thier online forza privileges. All the games, forza hub, even returns, everything they need to be taught a lesson
we’ll just have to see how effective the reporting function is - was doing some of the Worlds Fastest Cars challenges and some of those leaderboard results are bogus - speed traps over 1000mph, races completed in 30secs when 3 star is set to over 2mins.
bring back the ability to view past runs of anyone on leaderboards
Doesn’t matter if it’s console or PC.
A cheater is a cheater. As a PC player who’d rather buy a PS4 and build a kick ass gaming PC than buy an Xbox One X, I’d rather play on PC at a stable 60FPS 4K with FreeSync/GSync.
The problem is the anti-cheat methods used. Lots of PC games have great anti-cheat systems, keep alot more server side so it can’t be tampered with. FH4 doesn’t do that and it needs to be addressed for FH4, Forza 8/FH5 in the future.
As mentioned above, report and repeat. There’s plenty of Xbox players that want to exploit the game as much as the cheating PC players. Some of us are good guys.
That works for obvious cases, but some people will just make their cheating more subtle, so the end result is just about plausible and people can’t quite be sure enough that it’s impossible without cheating to report it. Indeed in some cases it might be that it’s possible to achieve that standard without cheating, just not for that particular person, just like how most people who get caught doping in sports aren’t the best in the world.
All suspicious speeds should be investigated!! Anything over 500mph should get officially verified before going on the global leaderboard.
When you see a D class Peel topping the quarry speed trap leaderboard with 1000mph when I’m struggling to hit 150mph in an untuned Mustang it’s very deflating!!
I’m all in favour for cross platform so long as they control the mods.
that guy is going around all the speed traps doing it, he simply doesnt care at all about any one who actually wants to try in this game. He should be publicly named and shamed, real name and all. He is a straight up steroid pumping loser. Go full lance armstrong on him
I thought it was strange that the next highest scores over my speed trap score were a peel 50 with 300+mph. Is that even possible in that car? I’m new to horizon but thought that was odd. It’s a person in my clan so do I report in the same manner?
It’s called a trainer and a quick google search will find you many. But there is only 1 that these people are using to ruin the main thing I have fun doing. I used to use the site for my trainers when I got bored with a game (offline single player only, never in an online game) if it didn’t have a cheat console. My roommate had a lifetime subscription, but when he moved away 5 years ago he changed his password so I can’t download anything from them at all. But I went to check for a Spore trainer for my fiance and right there on the front page was FH4 trainer. When I saw the options on it, I knew that is what all these idiots are using. A mod/admin should get a hold of a copy of one of them and see how they are injecting data to catch these people. They are still updating the trainer after every patch/update. Here is what it can do:
Super Acceleration
Super Brakes
Jump
Freeze Opponents
Opponents Spinout
Save/Load Position X3 (Teleport)
Set Credits
Updated May 08, 2019
Game Version:1.295.960.2
And they already have it updated to the newest patch that just came out, jesus… I don’t want to post their page in here, so if an admin wants to message me I will GLADLY tell you where to go to find it. And yes, please clear the leaderboards of unobtainable speeds/scores/distance. Once I finish the festival on day 1 to 94%, this is all there is left to do for me. Not into the whole online ranked stuff.
