The reverby and echoey car sound modelling has to go

Well I’m not saying for them to record 500+ cars. But we are talking about iconic cars. Recognized around the world, they should sound as pure as it gets in real life. Bro why so salty about my opinion, open your mind don’t be so negative about what other people say.

I am not salty in any way, i am just reasonable. And seriously not every Ferrari after 2012 is an iconic car or something, they are just sports cars like all the other sports cars. All of this is very subjective.

Wrong! The car sounds are one of the biggest issues in the game. Except a very small handful, all of them sound wrong because of the sound engineering engine and approach they have used. Plus, the fact that they seem to think that made up sounds are acceptable in a AAA Xbox exclusive title…

Despicable!

I don’t think you know your cars. Can I honestly ask if you’re even a car guy?

The exhaust is the main thing that produces sound. Even with the exact same engine type or configuration, a unique exhaust system will produce a highly unique sound easily distinguishable from a distance and of course in and right outside the car.

Even upgrades on the same car Vs stock will make the car sound drastically different IRL… Which FH 5 nails but FM 23 doesn’t

What should they do record 500 cars?

You gotta be reasonable, they can only do this with tricks and such.

Yes sure it’s good that in FH5 the exhaust and air intake etc. change the sound, but that doesn’t make it any less generic IMO.

Precisely.

They don’t have to do it overnight.

They can take months even 1+ year. But every game deserves a unique sound. I don’t want made up sounds.

It’s not hard to do but a lack of passion and motivation can make it hard.

They have the budget. But not wanting to do it is another thing… This is why I love Euro and Japanese car game developers - they really put in a ridiculous amount of love and passion to bring out the unique attributes of each car’s character or the level of depth and nuance they put into the physics engine for example.

I mean if you change the exhaust from stock to sport or racing exhaust, they also don’t look any different in FH5, they just add an artifically made different sound to the car and that’s it.

How it works in games like these is, that they maybe record 50-100 different engine sounds and then they downsample more engine sounds with help of computer tricks so they can produce more different engine sounds. And on paper that is perfectly fine, but there will always be cars engines where they won’t be able to reproduce the sound.

I am much more annoyed by the echo, reverby weird sound than the engines themselves atm. I don’t want that it sounds like driving through a pipe if driving under the Maple Valley bridge and such things.

They had 6 years dude. think it’s more than time to make cars sounds correct. Gran Turismo did it, the crew motorfest sounds good even this game kinda sounds good a very old game.

Don’t “dude” me. I am not your pal or your drinking buddy. Yes there are games that sound better, get over it and learn what the word patience means. Have you ever checked the car issues subforum, how many issues there are?

If you know about the 18-6 contracts and all that, you should know better why the game is how it is. Imagine the whole team got replaced 4 times, what a mess this causes.

It’s a GaaS so all you gotta do is wait, the game is bad in all things, the performance and stability is horrible, the menus suck, the sound sucks, the color filter is weird and sucks, the AI sucks, the penalty system sucks, the servers suck, there is no actual single player career etc. there are so many things broken. We can only wait. Step by step the game might be okay ish or even decent at some point. But going down memory lane won’t help.

Project Gotham Racing 4 only had like 130 (!) cars. You can’t compare that to 500+.

Sorry to report this but you sound like a real tool. People are just here to see the game improve but you seem to be making it about yourself, defending the game’s glaring issues and the fact that only your opinion matters.

Please feel free to show yourself out. No negativity or elitism needed on this thread. Thanks.

DUDE chill. Don’t be so salty. We are just discussing problems of Forza and you come at me like you’re the mean boss. And knows everything and you’re the one who is right… It’s a game that has problems I’m trying to tell you my opinion and then again you come with your opinion that I don’t know nothing about 18-6 contracts and Bla Bla Bla Bla that I don’t have patience. I’m not saying that you’re are wrong, I’m accepting what you saying. It’s called democracy freedom of speech.

Oi, plagiarist :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I am defending the game? Have you even read what i typed?

I just drove the Valkyrie AMR Pro in FH5. Even though you’re in a wide open area (how can you not be in FH5) it still spundds like it was recorded somewhere inside. It sounds pretty echoey.

This is one of the biggest problems in the game and puts me off every time when I try to get into it. It’s like I’m driving in a stadium or massive bathtub, even when in cockpit view.

Dynamic range and sound mixing… It’s all over the place.

That’s sounds correct as they probably hired 18/6ers from all over the place. Some rides sound fine but most are off, way off, the engine sounds like they are being played on an old casio keyboard in a bathroom
