I absolutely guarantee it. Sure, nobody likes to grind for skill points, but at least it was a workaround and doable for those of us who don’t have a rank of 20 as a painter or tuner and can’t sell our cars for whatever we want at the Auction House. The removal of wheelspins on all the lower-priced cars made this game almost hopeless. If their rationale was to motivate us to play the game 10 times as much so we can still afford to buy what we want, I’m afraid they’ve missed their mark. If they removed the wheelspins to minimize the folks using glitches or whatever, I have to imagine there were other ways to go about it.
I don’t agree. The way the game was throwing credits and cars at you before was crazy. Even after the changes I’m still getting plenty of wheelspins just by playing the game.
But they also made the loot table trash so its not like they simply reduced the number of wheelspins you get. They also made the ones you do get trash.
Not sure why you felt compelled to provide your stats, but congrats on your progress thus far. Anyways, 2 or 3 wheelspins per hour for someone who doesn’t have countless hours to play this game isn’t much. For newer players, I can’t imagine how long it’d take to save just to get the cars you need for certain challenges and races, much less how long it’d take to save to get the cars you actually want.
Since I’m still unable to buy cars at the Auction House, I’m relegated to paying full retail at the Auto Show, and I’m limited in what I can buy because the Auto Show doesn’t offer many of the cars I want. I have neither the time nor patience to play for the next year in order to get the rest of the cars I want. I have 501 in the garage now, and I think I’m done with this game until the bugs are fixed. My seasonal progress still shows 18 points, despite having already gotten to 41 points, claimed the Nio at 25 points, got the Nissan GTR for a reward after winning one of the seasonals, all to disappear at the end of each day and back down to 18 points in the morning. Tunes & upgrades for cars used to win the seasonals disappear as well. The Nio and GTR are gone. I still try to go in the Auction House to buy cars and still get the same error message of “not enough credits”, then it takes the credits from my balance, (which I’ve already admitted I can get back by resetting the game, but still it doesn’t change the fact that I can’t utilize the Auction House at all). I’ve now submitted multiple tickets over the last 3 weeks and all have since been marked as “Solved”. I wonder if they ever circle back to the tickets marked as “Solved” to actually solve the issues.
This intrigues me somewhat. Why is it that i see similar posts to yours about problems yet i don’t have those same problems?
I basically have not had any bugs or problems since Summer in Series 2 but every time i come onto this forum there are plenty who are encountering problems.
I’m Xbox One X, are these problems mainly confined to the Xbox Series editions and PC?
You see, what intrigues me the most is that from a playability perspective, the game is working fine for me in the way it should.
Why is that, am i alone in this or are there heaps who also have no issues or haven’t had for quite some time now…
I don’t have an answer as to why it works for you and not for me, (as well as many others). I am happy for you that you’re getting to enjoy the game the way many of us thought we would. Maybe by you reading all the problems others have had will make you appreciate the game that much more. Hopefully it continues to be a positive experience for you.
The removal of Wheelspin perks from various mastery trees is hardly DOOM. I don’t agree with the move, but it’s also not worth all the wailing and gnashing of teeth. Personally, I think they should’ve sidestepped the whole issue by making the Mastery trees one-and-done permanent per model ordeals.
I’ve had no significant problems with the game on XSX since about that first hotfix. And even for the couple of days before that it was fairly playable for me solo.
The game is meant to be played for a long time to get what you want … i.e. longevity. If you dont want to do that, your choice, there are many other alternative games that will give you quick stuff.
Thank you for your insights. I was having trouble finding the rules as to “how this game is meant to be played”.
What is wrong with some people? Why do you care if I enjoy getting in my Hoonigan RS 200 to farm skill points to buy the 2015 Cayman so I can watch my daughter get a kick out of doing lots of wheelspins? Who are you to tell me I can’t do this? I paid $100 for this game.
Ah… No it wasn’t. Payout for races is ridiculously low. And I don’t think VIP makes it all that much better.
Ever since FH4, PG has been nerfing various farming tools. Some of them were glitches and they were right to patch them, but there were other legit ways, like:
Goliath farming: It exists in every FH, but in FH4 the FE cars are much worse for farming money than their FH3 counterparts (HE cars). There’s no Viper nor Ford GT HE in FH4 anymore. The best credits boost car was the Alfa 8C IIRC, which was an S1900 car, so unsuitable for farming Goliath quickly.
Skill point farming: FH4 changed things by introducing individual skill trees. This made certain drift cars like the M6 FE very effective at farming skill points (and possibly credits bonuses), because they had fantastic perks. In FH5, however, the only FE car with a drift boost is the Trans Am GTA, which does not even come with drift tires as standard and has much worse perks than the M6 and Caterham from FH4.
Wheelspin buyout with FP: In the beginning of FH4, Wheelspins were very cheap in the Forzathon Shop. One of the first updates quadrupled their price and made it impractical to buy Wheelspins by farming FP.
Selling duplicate prizes from Wheelspins: Something we had in FH3. Unfortunately Mixer went under and the live streams weren’t recorded, but, prior to FH4’s release, Ralph Fulton himself said on camera that the ability to sell cars you won in Wheelspins but already owned was removed to “prevent players from unfairly racking up prizes”. It came back a year later “at the fans’ request”.
The game may throw lots of cars at you, but rarely does it throw the cars you actually want. It’s a Wheelspin. It’s what you find in a casino. You’re not supposed to always win. Vast majority of cars in FH’s car lists are just filler. It’s always very clear which cars get more love from the studio and which ones are there just because they needed something to bring the game’s list to the advertised number.
Finally, the only people who can make money quickly in FH today are those who use the Auction House to flip cars, especially creators with Legendary status who can sell cars for 20 million regardless of their market price, thus inflating all prices and driving inflation up considerably.
If you are relying on wheelspins to play this game, you are doing it terribly wrong to start with. Always the same lol. Kids…
Why do you want so many wheelspins? to get everything as soon as you can? then what? whats your purpose with this game? shouldnt you be enjoying it at slow pace and use wheelspins just when you have them, without hurry?. One of the main problems in this game is that you get everything too fast, they changed that in some way, and people will still complain, of course. What im surprised.
Im sure you are one of those who dont even care about the broken state of the game, but gets angry when they lower the wheelspin spawn… lol.
I’m actually 49 years old, so your “kids” remark, though laughable, is also complimentary. I’m married, have a kid and run 2 different businesses, so I don’t have as much free time to play as I’d like. I was a huge Forza 4 fan and thought this would be a step up. It is not. Don’t be so sure about my being ok with the broken state of this game. Perhaps you should read post #6 where I list just some of the few most recent bugs regarding my losing progress & cars each day and my inability to purchase anything at the Auction House.
Perhaps when you have the time you could list all the ways I should and shouldn’t play this game that I paid $100 for.
Erm, why do you play then? your purpose is only to get wheelspins? i thought that people who played racing games did it because they like , you know, drive cars. What has to do wheelspins with it?
Im sorry, but it doesnt matter if you “dont have as much free time to play” as you said. Im in your same situation. So? that means nothing.
I play the game to have fun, thats what videogames are for. So,what, now i get “only” 10 wheelspins every day instead of 20?? ow. Yeah, such a problem. Really. Honestly sometimes i wonder why some of you still play this game. If you dont have time to play videogames, just dont do it. As easy as that. But many videogames are built to last at least 2-3 years. This is one of those cases. If you want to “finish” the game in four months, now thats a problem and you should analyze why are you even playing to start with.
I dont get you guys. And people will still complain that now they get half the wheelspins amount they did before. These guys should really stop playing videogames, really.
The “nerf” of wheelspins is one of the less important “problems” in this game, almost insignificant. Because wheelspins and cars are still coming like candies. Please start complaining about important things and not insignificancies.
The wheelspins are not the only problem and they’re certainly not the biggest problem, but I do believe it will be the nail in the coffin.
BTW, if you don’t like what I’m complaining about, click that little button marked, “Block Users Posts”. Problem solved.
