I swear, after every new Horizon Story, more and more do I think that the character is just a child in an adult’s body…
I mean, just listen to this overenthusiastic British manchild. Everything that comes out of his mouth is obnoxious and cringe. Other characters are trying to say something serious while the player character says the most corny, cringe-worthy garbage known to man.
Every time they talk, I just want them to shut the hell up. The male voice is awful too. It’s not at all pleasant to the ears. I honestly prefer the days when the character just didn’t talk, and when the games had minimal dialogue in general. PGG can’t seem to get anything right in that department and I’d rather they just stop trying if this is what we get.
I miss the Midnight Club: LA protagonist. The guy was stupidly charismatic and confident, but the game doesn’t take his behavior seriously and you can really enjoy his character if you do the same.
He also, you know, has a competent voice actor that doesn’t sound like a British man who never hit puberty
If only they could have one of the male protagonists voiced by someone like Sebastian Vettel. He’s cool and I doubt he’d need a script. Just let him respond naturally like the racing driver he is.
Then for people who really aren’t into any of the sizzle, clothes and fancy stuff could choose Tony Stewart.
Be better if he said things like
“I started to realise that being impolite saves an awful lot of time and costs you nothing”
And
“I don’t understand bus lanes. Why do poor people have to get to places quicker than I do?”
GENIUS!!!
Imagine your character describing cars in a no nonsense way
“I’d like to consider Ferrari as a scaled down version of God.”
