The amount of skill point score you need to level up gets INSANE. I’ve basically just been doing skill chain boosting for a day and a half to try and get the wheel spin chance perk, and it just gets impossible to level up. You can get a 20,000 point score and your skill meter thing goes up like an inch. It’s harder to get asinine perks that only REALLY effect single player (I mean the 2 multiplayer perks are okay, but really nothing huge) than to level up and get cars. Hell I’ll probably have beaten the game before I have even 1 of the perk points of the 5 needed to get the wheel spin bonus perk. In my opinion they REALLY need to reduce the amount of points needed to get a perk point. -_-
I’ve had that perk since level 25, didn’t take that long.
- Purchase/acquire Extreme Track Toy. (Donkervoort/Ariel)
- If budget allows, upgrade to increase horsepower
- Drive to large paved playground area (Aerodrome, Zona Industriale, Quai du Commerce)
- Turn off all assists.
- Squeeze right trigger.
- Hold on.
Alternately:
- Purchase/acquire/build S1 or S2 car
- If budget allows, upgrade to increase handling.
- Drive to highway.
- Turn off all assists.
- Squeeze right trigger.
- Hold on.
It is probably a better idea to go for perks that help with chain building as they will help quickly rack up points than heading straight for the wheelspin perk.

I have an S1 Caterham R500. Been up and down the highway with all assists off, getting skill chains. Get a perk level every hour and a half or more I’d estimate. Went to the aerodrome with all assists off already. Doing longer drifts doesn’t increase your score unless you chain it with something else. So you end up just spinning out at some point and your chain ends. Really not an efficient way to gain skill points.
This is my favorite way to perk up…
Ford F-100
Install 6.2L
Install AWD
Install Twin Tubos
Race Suspension and Drivetrain parts
Stock tire compound and rims
Upgrade width
Upgrade the engine parts until you get to A700
Go to the Airport and have fun… the F-100 can get chains all day with minimum effort… Hell use it to cruise around and it’s a blast… I don’t recommend this particular build for racing though… I have my tune shared as well…
The airstrip is your friend. Hoon up and down it. My largest streak was around 650,000 points. I’ve unlocked almost all the perks at this point.
Plus, it wouldn’t be fun if it wasn’t a challenge… at least from my perspective.
My highest skill chain is 135k or so, done at the Quai du Commerce and that alone was good for three or four skill points when I did it.
The points are there, go out and get them.
