I will always remember the old Spa because it was in Grand Prix Legends by Papyrus, a 1998 sim that was way ahead of it’s time.
The first racing sim to use 3d physics that I’m aware of. I don’t understand why Forza 5 doesn’t have the old 9 mile long track.
It was just as hairy as The Nurburgring. I will always remember that sim because of the effort put into it.
It’s one that is still raced to this day by many. The mods for it have been amazing.
Can I say the same about Forza 5 in 16 years ? Nope. A game/sim now is only good until next year sadly.
I sure would love to see the “old Spa” return in a sim at some point…the old tracks were seat of the pants, life or death for
those drivers, many who died went into the trees. It took massive amounts of talent to drive a GP car in 1967, skinny tires,
zero down force…truly seat of the pants. And that’s exactly how it drove in the sim. It took some months to complete one lap.
Bring back the old Spa Turn 10… at least some day please.
The history of racing is pretty amazing when you look back on it.
