I was sweating the bounty hunter last night and I noticed only 20000 ppl have attempted this rival. Considering you get a free car just for participating id of expecting 4 times that number.
So what’s going on, this isn’t the only board that’s completly dead. I remember on fm6 posting times on the 18th of September and the boards were already flooded with times. Is this a consequence of all the refunds? Are there littrally only 20000 of us that are willin to give homologation a chance? Or is the game so poorly made that it’s just putting ppl off from the get go?
the LB’s i’ve seen is very low at the moment. the biggest one i have seen is almost 100k in one of the first championships when i went back to do one i hade missed but didnt need to do to get myself to the next championship… note that players are divided into the series they like. but i have givin it a thought and it doesnt add up that many people. i think maybe some people are waiting on christman and some are waiting for xbox one x and some are waiting to get the 2x VIP bonus…
i wont speculate much more about it other than that i am worried atm…
There’s many variables to think about but it could also be because it just came out and not everyone has had time to go over to it. I streamed for 7 hours and pretty much did nothing but drift and tune and didn’t even take a gander at the new rival stuff lol.
With Homologomologalation it’s not so easy to get a feel for how many people are active.
I remember looking up the Class S times for Rio in Forza 6 (Because everyone gets thrust into the Ford GT there the moment they press start) and seeing 2 million records once…but yeah.
This game is far from “poorly made”. I would say the game is made great, I understand why things are the way they are, but the lack of acceptance from the Forza community and how it is seen from the outside, aka the gaming press, is really splitting the fanbase. For those people who don’t like FM7, there is always FM6 or (insert other racing games here). For those people that like FM7, game on.
The main problem is everyone is comparing FM7 to the other FM titles, which they can try all they want to but will fall flat very, very quickly because of one reason. Cross Platform. Why do you think there are problems? Why do you think all the features aren’t available? Cross platforming issues with Turn 10. Fair and simple. Oh but Forza Horizon 3 was cross platform and works good. Hooray, but guess what, still a different game with different concepts. Open world is a different beast than the single tracks with all of its differences in coding and physics vs the arcade simulator rivaled by what…Need for Speed? People need to take a breath, and be patient while a company is trying to do good and break themselves apart from the stereo typical gameplay it once had.
Maybe something to do with the very short time the game has been out, and the £45+ price tag, coupled with the scathing reviews, and loosing a large amount of players who’ll just to get the PC version.
And the fact its an X class indy car, which many people have no inclination to drive, let alone try to beat a specific time.
Add to that the fact you can get times on the LB with friction assist enabled, meaning many can’t be bothered going up against others using an unfair glitch, your going to get low numbers.
Tht new feature means didly squat half the time because you can revert the car to stock and upgrade how you want. The only problem people truly have is it is stuck to a race type and not a class type. IE Hot Hatches vs C Class racing. And when you think about it, they still have a Class status, a PI status, Tire width, compound type, ect so it is actually more restricting this way.
Pretty much my reason as well - wanted to get a fair chunk of career done before I went on holiday. However I’m back tomorrow and may give this a look if it’s still running.
In terms of leaderboard numbers - I would imagine one of the better ways of working out the figures would be to look at the leaderboards for one of the early championships like hot hatch. It may not be 100% accurate but will give you a good idea.
I was pretty busy chasing forza points in SP campaign, then there’s the GT Sport demo and tons of other hot games in october. If you’re not playing Forza only, october is an especially tough month to stay focused.
