I was wondering if forza motorsport is getting updates when horizon 6 has dropped and maybe even a fm9 in the future or is this game completely dead

Here’s my theory: Unfortunately, based on recent events that happened to T10 studios, not only FM 2023 is not going to get any updates this year [and most likely forever], but also, the entire motorsport franchise is gone. :disappointed_face:
However, it’s not officially confirmed whether FM will receive any updates from 2027 or another new FM game will be available.

There’s one thing that we know: FM will not receive any updates in 2026.

Looking at the game credits, it would seem that they outsourced pretty much everything.

One would think they’d at least try recoup some players and money by just endlessly releasing DLC car packs. Even the ones from FH5 perhaps. No bug fixes to the main game required.

Turn 10 is still around its just that they are support studio now. They will now solely provide the engine as well as scanning cars for Forza Horizon.

This is Microsoft’s decision; but i don’t have hope, since these cars must have a license & licenses require money. :pensive_face:
Also, i don’t think DLC packs will sale enough to justify all of the costs.

If there plan was to release dlc car packs, they would have been doing so as there are hundreds of cars available to them from horizon 5 and past motorsport games.

The team thats left at turn 10, doesn’t make cars, they deal with the physics and I believe one guy does sound. The devs that worked on the actual game are gone.

Unless they hire an entire new team to fill the empty studio, motorsport as a franchise is no more. What has been said doesn’t fully close the door, but at this stage everything behind that door is gone.
