I’ve been trying to help quite a bit in the other thread regarding Forza Motorsport 6 and its download size. Now we know that it will be 44GB, and people are unsure as to how or when it will download, I thought it would be cool to start a thread relating to just that.
Here’s something I came across earlier (and posted in that thread) to get the ball rolling! Check out these screenshots below.
The first pic shows Forza Motorsport 6 in its current state. This is the same thing that all of you will be seeing, with the exception of some people (like I did for a while) seeing 0GB instead of the 44GB.
The second pic shows Forza Horizon 2 installed on my console, along with my DLC content. This pic coincides with the final screenshot. Notice how it says ‘Internal’. Plus, under the dropdown menu, it says ‘Uninstall All’, just like with Forza Motorsport 6 at this current time.
The final pic shows the end of my DLC list, and right beside it, it has a ‘Ready To Install’ menu, as I forgot about installing a couple of the cars, or packs.
I reckon this is what we’ll see when Forza Motorsport 6 is ready to download. I think we will get a menu that lets us ‘Install’ the game, ready for its release date. It’s just going to be a case of keep on checking.
Because it was no longer relevant to the thread itself. I thought this one would be more suitable over the next few days or so when the downloads begin. As I said, it was just to get the ball rolling. Only trying to help people after all.
Does anyone know for sure if we can for example purchase xbox live credit from other websites like g2a, electronic first etc… and use the same credit to buy the game, or do we have to purchase it directly from the xbox store? Thanks! EDIT : Answered on different thread
The confused one is you. It is a placeholder, NO ONE has downloaded the 44gb yet. And the reason of this thread and others like it, is that people like myself with slow internet, need to know when the game is up for download. I will need close to 3-4 days to download that size…
I already have purchased. I got the ultimate edition back in June. The game isn’t available for download yet as it hasn’t gone gold. Some people were questioning whether it had downloaded, even though it hasn’t as it isn’t showing up in their bandwidth usage. Because it went from the 130MB placeholder, up to 44.3GB, people just thought that it had downloaded overnight while their consoles were off, as some of the power modes allow for instant updates. That’s why I created this specific thread, just to help everyone understand what’s going on, and to inform us when the downloads actually start if it isn’t announced officially straight away.
PPiDrive, when you buy Forza 6 from Microsoft digitally before release and before the game is released for download, you just download a marker. When the game is released it will download if set up on your console properly. If not you will have to manually download it after it goes gold. ( I have Forza 5 and Black ops 3 bought but neither has downloaded the entire 40+ gigs yet. Once it goes gold is when you can download it. Until then they are still changing things in it.
Turns out it isn’t the same as the other games I have pre-downloaded before. The couple of games I have purchased this way before did download immediately when purchased - especially when it was so close to launch.
Guess it’s not the case - will re-edit that top post as to not confuse people reading the thread.
I was also bit baffled as well, because the pre-purchase Forza 6 download indicated that it was almost 45gb in size, but had yet to download the game itself! It did however download the small data DLC’s, for example the day one car packs and bonus cars, as well as the VIP and monthly car pass access! However in saying that, there was no way it downloaded the entire game, because it would’ve obviously taken a lot longer than the 5mins it took to download the add-on’s!
So in saying that, Microsoft has mislead its customers, because if I was not to use my Xbox One until the 10.09, since the only reason I’m going to start using my Xbox One again is for Forza 6, I would be spending an entire 48 hours downloading the entire game, simply because my internet speed is only ADSL 2! Therefore I wouldn’t have access to play the game on the 10.09 but rather the 12.09!
I’m really pee’d off that Microsoft didn’t sell the Ultimate Bundle, or at least the Deluxe Edition in hard copy format within the retail stores, so I wouldn’t have to waste time downloading such a big game!
