The car list needs a clean slate

Given that we have around 700+ cars in the game at this point, and easily over 1,000 over every Forza game released, I’d say this car list doesn’t feel varied or huge anymore. It’s just so… bloated. Not to mention the blatant copy and pasting of ridiculously outdated models.

So many cars in this game are completely pointless to include and frankly, should be removed. We have cars the playerbase has been begging for years now completely ignored in favor of additions they couldn’t care less about.

I’d say the absolute best car roster in a Forza game would be Motorsport 4. I’ve regrettably never gotten to play the game sadly, but the more I look into the game’s car list on the Forza Wiki, the more I’m absolutely amazed at the cars included. It doesn’t matter your taste in cars, the game doesn’t just provide the bare minimum in each category like Forza Horizon 5 does, it goes absolutely beyond.

In all honestly, I would do pretty much anything to have this car list in the next Forza Horizon title. Remove the race cars, replace the void they leave with newer cars to keep the roster up to date. That’s all I want for the car list.

In my own opinion, the car list needs to scrap most non-production vehicles. I wouldn’t mind some exceptions. most notably iconic concept cars and a few working prototypes, but honestly 85% to 90% of the cars in a Forza Horizon’s car roster should be something I can immediately go out and buy myself, assuming I had the money. I don’t think Hoonigan or DeBerti or whatever hype trendy influencer project car needs to have such an overwhelming presence in the car roster.

Personally the only thing I don’t like is in the past 2 games, cars that could clearly have been there straightaway being taken out for adding in at a later time.

Every single car that is ready + able to be put in the game at launch should be present on day 1.

That’s what the whole idea of live service is supposed to be, a full game at launch that then is updated with extra + genuinely new stuff consistently added on top, unfortunately we know it never works out that way with the majority of games, it’s exploited and shortcuts are taken.

Couldn’t agree more on FM4 though, just the modern day equivalents of the little city cars that game had would be nice, I think it would resonate with a lot of people since they are some of the most common cars to see + own in real life.

First you complain about old cars and then praise 12 years old game. Try to decide.

That’s true, Forza Motorsport 4 had an absolutely brilliant car list. And to think that there are still 253 of these cars that were not seen in any 8th/9th gen Forza ever since (I’ve made a list).

Even if they added every single possible car imaginal it doesn’t change the fact that FH5 would still remain FH5.

news flash, those car models in FM4 weren’t “old” when the game released

I’m sorry but licensing dictates what is allowed. Just cause something is in a previous Forza game does not necessarily mean they will carry over. Sometimes there’s issues with the brand, but other times T10/PG simply has no interest in adding them. Unfortunately the latter is the MAIN issue.

Frankly why do you need to make separate threads like manufacturer bias or the downhill slate. It is wrong.

I welcome any car regardless if it’s a Chinese car* or a returning FH4 car.

*This denotes that pretty much every car brand, China included, reached out to MS.

Relatively speaking, I’d say they’re far from an overwhelming presence.

Combined, they have about 20 cars in the game.

Or about 1/61 of the car list.

To put that into perspective, Audi occupies a bigger part of the car list now

While this is true, do we really need both version of the Hoonicorn though? It’s the same car with a different livery and rims.

I definitely hope the licenses for Extreme E don’t get renewed going forward. Though, knowing how Playground Games works, I’m sure all ten Extreme E cars will be back while another 200 cars are taken off the list.

As long as they keep one Extreme E car I’m fine.
It should be possible to offer the different teams as livery options under manufacturer paints.

I agree with this, more so cause it was the same car IRL. There aren’t 2 Hoonicorns IRL! It could have been a paint option.

They can have thousands of cars but still only have the same limited events. Why not put in a banked high speed oval, a stadium truck course, a fun karting track, time rally stages. stuff like that for some variety besides wide street courses and driving through field fences.

I highly doubt it. Knowing PG, they likely won’t add them because Horizon 6 may as well be released in 2027, and by then those licenses will be gone. Same with Hoonigan or DeBerti, they probably won’t survive long enough.

Also no, they can’t just put one Extreme E. It does not matter how much you can ask but each team has to be individually represented, same with all race cars. No amount of criticism can change it. I’m sorry.

I do hope third-party Porsches and those Hoonigans won’t be a part of Horizon, or anything Forza related in the future since various things have happened. Ever wonder why only one new Hoonigan was added at launch?

It is because the company is in the company of CSR 2, which would otherwise have the logos on their recent work on Ken Block’s wares.

It might also have to do with Ken Block’s association with Ford is no longer a “thing” as he signed a contract with Audi. The new Hoonitron exists due to that arrangement.
