Thank you Turn 10

Just a stream to thank Turn10 team for Forza Motorsport. I don’t understand all those criticisms on this game. I have been playing simracing for more than 20 years. I played Gran Turismo 1 & 2, F1 Legend, F1 99-03, F1 2010, F1 2013, F1 2017, Dirt & Dirt Rally, GTR, GTR2, GTL, AC, ACC, Raceroom, Project Cars 1 & 2, EA WRC, RFactor 2, etc. I play on a RS seat, with a T818 and a TH8A shifter. My favorite game is ACC and EA WRC, but I really enjoy Forza Motorsport. When I want fun without headache, I’m playing FM. The feeling of the car and of the track (especially the surface) are really so great and really close to the reality (I spent time to find the perfect set up with my T818 but it’s ok now), tracks and cars are so beautifull. FM provide an excellent balance between hard core sim and simcad. I do think that FM is close to a simulation than EA WRC. I really feel the front tires or rear tires when they begin to drift. It’s a real pleasure to test all those cars of legend. I wait for the new track every month like Christmas ! I do think that FM is one of the best simracing in the world. I have the same pleasure as with ACC, I spent more time on FM than with ACC since October. Please continue to provide big fun to FM drivers with new tracks. Don’t believe in haters, but in FM drivers who appreciate your work and have big fun ! Thanks to all the team !

Nice appreciation post.

The criticism begins with them over-promising and under-delivering. That’s basically it.

It’s neither the best looking Forza, nor the best sounding one. But that’s exactly what we were told pre release. It worked.

Physics are really good though and they are making improvements to the visuals and audio as we speak. Enjoy Forza!

Edit: Forza has little to no “haters” as such, as far as I know. Just people who want to see the game improve, that’s all, especially those who dished out $100 without a second thought, trusting Turn 10 to deliver a quality product on launch. All anyone really wants is their money’s worth. Fair game don’t you think?

Sorry! At least one person doesn’t want to wait any longer to see if and when these underperformers release their next cramp.
After 8 weeks of FM23 I bought a PS5 with GT7 and just want my money back from MS/T10.
Since seeing what a console can do in terms of graphics, I can no longer listen to the nonsense about console graphics limitations. The Japanese can do it!

You’re right. Perfection doesn’t exist, it’s a challenge to try to reach it. The marketing promised too much. I spent 100 €, it’s the cost of good and big fun.

Do you REALLY think there’s anything more to come in terms of graphics? Most people here in the forum assume that the next expensive high-performance PC will make things look better. Nobody believes anymore that after these loud announcements we would eventually get something that could at least keep up with the competition from consoles. Or is this your theory? “In a year, FM23 will look as good as GT7 does today?”

I don’t think we will see anything near the graphical quality of gt7 unfortunately.

If we see tiny improvements we will be lucky.

But there’s no harm having both, come back to FM in 5 years time, may be surprised or may not lol.

This is where my criticism comes from. I’m currently trying to have fun without headaches and have to spend 10 minutes trying to get the game to agree to start a race with some basic restrictions, only to be rebuffed half the time.

I mean, it’s pretty good once I’m in a race, but for the price paid getting in a race shouldn’t be that difficult.

Sorry but Santa is make believe and from the looks you will be waiting 2 months, maybe more? for a track to be added, only call them new if it’s not something we have seen from the previous installments

Anyways glad you are enjoying the game, the user interface gives me a headache

I don’t think anyone is saying it’s an inherently bad game. Most of us on here (appreciate not all) are still playing it, despite our concerns. My view is that it’s a solid racing game, now that CarXP has been removed.

The high level of irritation is primarily because this isn’t a game that was starting from scratch. It’s had nearly 20 years of evolution. The fact it has the most basic career mode of any Forza game, has menu interfaces that are much worse than prior games and that there are restrictive tune limits just shouldn’t be happening. That’s before we even get to the game breaking bugs that some people have had to deal with.

It’s okay to like playing the game. That doesn’t mean that T10 don’t deserve the criticism which has come their way so far.

@Yanosh74 Lovely post and I agree.
Maybe it’s not what some wanted, but I’m thoroughly enjoying it.

The feel and driving characteristics on controller imo are the best I’ve ever experienced.

I guess as an Xbox controller user I’m the target market and… Love it.

Is it perfect? Nope, the career is :poop: and didn’t enjoy the levelling but I’m enjoying online far more than previous FMs, and T10 fixed the latter.

Hope they continue working on the game to make it even more pleasurable but as of now, enjoying it :ok_hand:t3:

I don’t know if it’s me, but I find it really hard to play FM at the wheel. I recently bought a relatively inexpensive T248, and as much as it’s a real pleasure to play AC, AMS2 and EA WRC, with its crazy sensations and real fun (although I’m a bit behind on the controller gameplay), FM is a lot of fun to play with the controller and I think it’s well designed, compared to these other titles, I find it extremely frustrating to play behind the wheel.
My sensations aren’t good (with a recommended setting) and I think the steering wheel rotation limitation has a lot to do with it.

I briefly tried setting the rot° hardware to 360, 540, 720°… I don’t seem to be able to turn properly. It’s as if I’m always missing a bit of steering angle, even though in reality I’m turning the wheel, in the game it feels restricted, in short it’s no fun.

Perhaps you could give me some advice on settings that I’ve missed?

The complaints aren’t about how the game feels when driving. Criticism is aimed at the lack of content in the game, online play, graphics, bugs, etc…
The physics of the game is great, everything else is where the problems lay.

Well, why not? Is the Xbox not capable?

Or it it a lack of vision from the studio, in your opinion?

You hit the nail on the head.

As for me personally, I’m okay with the current content, there’s enough variety to keep me busy for a while, but when cars sound bad or wrong, coming through an amp where I’m hearing the said car 100% of the time, that’s when I feel like putting the game down. But that’s just me. Others will have their own set of complaints.

Physics are great though - minus the unusual understeer and steering numbness around the centre, feel is the best it has ever been in any Forza game. More nuanced for sure.

you enjoy fomo? I guess they found their target audience.
The player numbers suggest you’re in the minority.

Is that directed towards me? If yes, can you point out where I mentioned anything about FOMO? By mentioning “content”, you automatically assumed I meant FOMO?

Hi Shaadum, I have a DD steering wheel, so the set up is very different. I really improve my feeling by decreasing the Steering Linearity (around 20) and Center Spring Scale (around 20). Fot other set up, I spent a lot of time in driving on a track that I perfectly know (Spa) in changing one set up by one set up. Maple Valley and the Nordschleife are goods to set up the feeling of the road (Road fell Scale) but also the Wheel Dumping Scale. Good luck !
