There are quite a few threads popping up regarding negativity towards the Xbox 360 version of the game and certain social features working intermittently. All that aside I would like to thank everyone that worked on this game. Whilst I feel bad for those experiencing issues, not enjoying the game as much as they feel they should, and those that have the 360 version and feel it is a less than stellar entry into the franchise. This thread is by no means meant to rub anyone up the wrong way, instead I simply wish to show my gratitude and interject some well earned positivity.
Now, I was a little underwhelmed by the first Horizon, and perhaps a little dejected with the release of Forza 5 for various reasons. I’ve had a lot of fun with both games, but neither seemed to reach the lofty heights the previous entries in the series achieved for me. Each game before those holds a special place in my heart for a variety of reasons. The original being the first, and for me revolutionizing and rejuvenating the console sim racer, Forza 3 for the community at that time and the countless late nights spent with friends within it’s delightful code.
I can’t place my finger on it, and it’s early days yet, but somehow that Forza magic is back. My gut tells me Horizon 2 will hold a very special place in my heart. The handling is sublime, the graphics are outstanding and the location is perfect.
The launch issues aren’t that bad, I am now getting VIP rewards on the spin, I missed out on about 10 VIP spins but still have a bunch of cars and over 500,000 credits. Photo’s are now uploading for me, the DLC cars are now free in game and I’m encountering no issues at present. Even if more issues do arise, I am willing to be patient, enjoy what I can and be confident in the knowledge the bugs will be fixed. Something that has become alarmingly uncertain in the modern day gaming landscape, with some devs/publishers taking off with the bags of cash and leaving their game a horrid, bug ridden unplayable mess. Maybe that is the extreme end of the spectrum, but I have been a ‘victim’ of this and I’m relieved Playground and Turn 10 show the true dedication to their masterpieces other sadly don’t.
I’m looking forward to future DLC, spending time with friends in the game, taking photos, painting again! (not done that properly since Forza 3) and cracking on with Forza Nation Magazine and making Top Gear style videos set within the game world.
I am excited again, and I thank everyone that had a hand in this games creation, thank you!
