I didn’t have the privilege of sampling the first Forza Horizon and always wondered what it was like compared to the 2nd amazing installment of the series. Having been made available for free on Xbox One as of September 1st - 15th as long as you have an active Gold Membership, I downloaded the game and WOW! What I like most about the game over FH2 is the expanse of roads to roam about on that offer some really cool driving around, something I like doing in FH2, but enjoy it here ever more so. But the most cool thing about the game is the ability to unlock some serious points up to 2000!

I did play the original Horizon and really liked it. Since I can run the original Horizon on my XBox One I decided to load it up on the XBox One. I had forgot how much fun the game was. There is a different feel than Horizon 2. Horizon 2 is also a fun game but it feels different. It is nice have two good games that are similar but different enough to make them both enjoyable. I hope Horizon 3 is a little different from the original and 2 that it will feel like a new game.
Agreed, the first one has a way better atmosphere than the second.
I liked the story in the original Horizon. You had to beat the other drivers before you could get to champion. All the drivers had personalities. They would trash talk you. It was fun to beat them. That was missing in Horizon 2.

Agreed - other than the significant server issues, I am finding I’m enjoying FH more than FH2.
Of all the Forza games I own, this is currently my “go to”…
As for me I’m new to the entire Forza universe and I only got started with Horizon when it was available for free with gold. Just now I realized I’ve missed a lot! Decided to play all games starting from Forza Motorsport 2 and already excited about the upcoming Horizon 3. Great games…
Don’t forget the original Forza Motorsport plays quite well on the Xbox 360 too
