When I try to upload a car design the language filter literally blocks everything (even “hello” or “enter text”). I didn’t use any offensive car designs also, the only words on the car are “drift” and “king”.
The language filter is bs anyway
The language filter has nothing to do with what’s actually on the car. The language filter only checks the file name and the description you enter when trying to save your design.
As always, the “language filter” belongs to Xbox Live, and every game on Live which has user input is subject to it. It is not the game, it is the Xbox Live system.
It’s there because this game is rated “E” You know, for everyone. That includes little kids who play on their parent’s, or older sibling’s, or even their own console. If this was a mature rated title, along the lines of any GTA game, then I would agree with you, but it’s not, and I don’t.
You don’t think the filter goes a little overboard???
A couple years back my father-in-law had to change his gamertag because of it. He had a completely normal, innocent gamertag that he’d had for years and when his XBL Gold was up to renew Microsoft said, yeah we won’t let you renew because that gamertag doesn’t pass the word filter. Please change your gamertag to renew (oh by the way, that’ll be $10). He got them to let him change it for free but he was told it had to be changed to pass the word filter.
The gamer tag was muffinman btw.
Yes, I can see where the filter might catch something as inappropriate but seriously? This isn’t Soviet Russia or China we live in, or is that the end goal MS?
