Language filter is ridiculous.

just wanted to let turn 10 know they might wana let the word filter allow “homologation” when sharing a tune…kinda pertinent to this game

It is actually microsoft/xbox live’s word filter. T10 has nothing to do with it, but that is funny.

I just tried to upload a tune, and in the description I said “homologated”… The language filter said no go, and I had to describe it differently. This is silly… I don’t understand how homologated play is the new thing, but we can’t say the word. “Hey bro, is this tune of likeness to other vehicle builds we are going to be competing with in this event?” is easier to say anyway.

Microsoft’s language filter has been a problem since the year dot. I remember having to describe an FM3 paint as “yello” because “yellow” wasn’t allowed.

In the case of “homologation” though, it’s the first four letters.

I figured that it was recognizing the scientific term used for describing likeness as a derogatory term for homosexuality. Completely ridiculous.

The real ridiculous thing here is why was this not tested.

I can understand the language filter rejecting it.

Maybe they should have found this before going live with it and changed the term to something else like spec series.

Posting here about it is useless. Turn 10 has nothing to do with the language filter.

lol
Actually, it’s just as effective posting this as it is anything Turn10 related. It’s not as if they would do anything regardless. Your point is moot.

Thanks for pointong that out! I wasn’t asking for a fix, I just thought it was interesting that homologated cars are part of the game, and it doesn’t pass a language check. If I were looking for a fix, I would post in the help section. Thanks for your valuable insight; knowledgeable and helpful people like you make this game what it is!

Hello, I was working on the Filthy Amigo Driving Apparel livery (sponsor decal) today (Filthy Amigo Driving Apparel provides the racing suits that all the drivers at Skullz Racing team wear) So, after I finished designing the Filthy Amigo Driving Apparel decal I thought there might be other drivers out there who aren’t associated with Skullz Racing but would still like to let it be known that they too wear Filthy Amigo Driving Apparel so I attempted to share it with the community. However I kept getting messages stating that certain words I was using to describe the Filthy Amigo Driving Apparel decal were not allowed.

I had originally written the description as “Filthy Amigo Driving Apparel sponsor decal”. I kept trying to share it, each time I would remove a word until ultimately I had no words at all to describe the Filthy Amigo Driving Apparel decal. Is this a glitch or something? The decal itself is rather simplistic in appearance. A poorly drawn man with a gold tooth and handlebar mustache wearing a sombrero with the words Filthy Amigo Driving Apparel stretched across the top and bottom.

I assure you they are a top notch racing suit manufacturer (right up there with Mondo Kane Manifolds and Barabbas Backflow Exhaust, and to my knowledge no one has ever caught fire while wearing one, even in the most vicious of accidents out in Forza 7.

Thank you for any help you can offer

It’s the word “Filthy” that’s giving you the hard time.

I forget when exactly, but a few games back, T10 implemented a “bad word” filter, to stop people from making [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] decals and other such things and sharing them.

It sucks when it hits something that is actually real, but unfortunately you’ll have to find a different word for “filthy”, or just drop the word entirely.

Oh man that is a bummer!

It same with everything you can share in Forza and it is so ridiculous, because the phallus designs and other nonsense still make it to the game. In FH3 I had sometimes trouble even sharing photos with the default name “Forza” and no description. I don’t know, what the software detected on the screen (sometimes the license plate didn’t even show on the photo, that might have caused problems somehow), but usually (not always) just refocusing and moving the frame a little bit allowed me to share the photo.

Can you even say that word lol!

I have over 50 tunes shared up to the server. every single one of them has the exact same description: Pro Tune - Handling

For some reason the U I crashed, which it loves to do. I restarted Forza 7, went back and checked all my settings were still there and went to share it and now I get this message. That’s three broken things I’ve found today. Hooray turn 10, you guys really stink it up.

I restarted my computer and the game and tried again, still get the same message. I even changed the description to the word handling and it doesn’t like that. So I left the description blank and I’m still getting the message about the language filter. What a bunch of muffin heads!

It can be the file name or the description.

I don’t see how that’s possible. I always use the exact same file name which is the letter designation and the pi points, followed by a hyphen, followed by the words: Pro Tune. What follows below is the exact file name an exact description verbatim including capitalization.

File Name: D349 - Pro Tune
Description: Pro Tune - Handling

Same exact file name and description I’ve used for over 50 Tunes, except the letter and numbers are different. Go ahead somebody, tell me what’s wrong with that.

Well, I figured it out. Apparently the number 349 is just very very naughty. I knew when I was younger when I saw that number it really meant something adult and sneaky. And now I know thanks turn 10.

Back in FM4 I tried to upload designs of a few cars raced by a driver named Dick Johnson (queenslander!!). Political correctness gone mad, it’s the blokes name for our alleged saviour’s sake!

^^^ say no more lol

As others have said, it is Xbox Live which controls the language filter in user input areas - in every game on Xbox Live.

If you have a quibble with the filters, go to the Xbox Live forums and complain over there. Neither Turn 10 nor Playground Games have control of the filters.
