It just needs to be said. Im one of the late adopters of this game, and ive gotta say im not inpressed with the way you have to acquire most of your cars in this game.
What am I talking about exactly? It’s the auction house. I have been playing this game for about 3 months now, and Im trying to complete my car collection in the game. But a vast majority of the cars in the game are locked behind being able to be acquired through the auction house, or festival playlists. Well when you go search for the cars in the auction house. You literally have to spend a week, or weeks trying to find one car. It’s just obnoxious. It should not take an entire week, or multiple weeks to find one car in the game through the absolutely ludicrous practice of “Auction House Sniping”. Im sorry but ive got better things to do with my life than spend hours on end trying to find one car.
I dont understand why other racing game titles have been able to grasp the concept over the years that people have lives to live. They dont have time to be spending weeks on end trying to find one car. Especially when all of the cars should be available in the showroom on day one, and only should be unlockable through objectives that can “actually” be completed. Or level caps.
What an absolute dumpster fire of a game. It’s too bad I cant get a refund for this game because I would absolutely love to return this trash to sender if that were an option.
You came into the game late and have issues with something in the game that works. Granted, coming in late, sucks but that’s the reason you’re having this problem. They can’t “fix” anything that works at launch. They’re already accomodating this fact with Backstage Passes. You probably acquired the game at a substantially reduced price which is meant to “compensate” you for these inconveniences. You’re better off accepting that like I did with FH4.
Pick up the games closer to initial release and you’ll see the auction house is fine.
In your case, I’d cross my fingers that they start repeating older playlists for the late comers. They did that in FH4 and that helped me considerably. It’s not known yet if they’ll do that with FH5 though. My understanding is that a lot of people who had the game since launch didn’t like it but that’s just something I heard someone else say in passing.
Sorry but what you’re saying literally proves what im talking about. Why should all newcomers that want to complete their car collections have to be at the mercy of a broken feature that works for some, but not for others?
I mean a fantastic example is today. My friend and I were doing that ridiculous sniping in the auction house thing today trying to look for an Alfa Romeo 4C. He found 3 different listings, and I found none despite having the same kinds of internet connections. This keeps happening mind you across the board no matter what car we’re looking for. That just tells me the feature in this game either caters to certain individuals who have a certain amount of DLC bought. Mind you i have the Ultimate Pack installed. But not all of the car packs like he does. Or the feature is just flat out broken, and should be taken out of the game.
This is honestly the most unenjoyable game to try to 100% because of the system working against you in the game. Like I said I wish I could get a refund. But im too far in the hole now for playtime.
Finally the backstage pass feature is completely useless because the cars they keep putting up to vote on are cars ive already got. So unless the devs get better at looking for the actual rare cars in the game. Like the AMC Javelin and Rebel for example. Then it’s just gonna be another garbage useless feature. Plain and simple.
Its just pathetic. I dont understand why the devs haven’t done their homework on what the community wants. The community wants the auction house feature removed, or revised to make it fair for everyone to enjoy the game. It’s quite pathetic that a gaming studio who gets mad at their community for not nominating their game for game of the year wonders why they did so. I can tell you why. The game is trash. Fix your trash game. Plain and simple it’s pathetic at this point.
No it doesn’t. Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t make it “broken”.
Please direct me to where the entire community said they want the auction house gone? Maybe I missed that. Seriously, I don’t like reading so I may not be aware.
But like I said, you probably got the game at a discount. This is what a discount gives you. As far as I’m aware, the only sure fire way to make sure you get ALL cars for the game is get the game EARLY. That’s the way the world works. Early Birds get the worms errmmm… cars.
Believe me when I say you dont have to look far. Many of my peers have said the same things I have about the auction house, and a lot of people on the Horizon subreddit have been complaining about how difficult it is to find one car in the game. Like I said it shouldn’t take an entire week to find one car. A fantastic example of this is recently. Not kidding you. I spent 6hrs per day for an entire week trying to find an '86 F150 in the game. Sniping the auction house. Couldn’t find a single one until tonight. It’s just obnoxious. People have lives to live. They shouldn’t have to spend that long trying to find one vehicle in a game just to complete their car collection accolades, or objectives.
So yes. Again I firmly believe that the auction house needs to be taken out of the game. Or the Horizon Festival needs to be reworked to only offer what is considered to be rare cars added to the Forzathon shop, and on top of that they need to do better research into what cars are extremely rare in the auction house so they can be added to the backstage pass.
I can literally list off 7 cars that should be added to the backstage right now.

Ferrari SF90 Stradale (These are next to impossible to snipe because of bots)
Lincoln Continental '62

There are many more. But these are just a few in a long list. Do better Playground games.
