What do you think of the speed of the traffic. I do not find it realistic at all and to walk is a nightmare, the traffic is so slow that you have to brake every 10 meters. I like to wander in forza horizon and I would really like the speed limit of traffic to be more realistic. I really should see this fixed in the next update if possible.
Yep, the tractors need to be going 100 mph (160kph) to be more realistic. [/sarcasm] . Interacting with traffic is part of the game.
In addition to braking, passing is also an option.
This… I don’t even have a valid driving licence and even I know about passing…
I know we’re not on a simulation game, but I did not expect such childish comments.
You are completely off topic. It is too difficult for you to understand. Traffic “CARS” speed limitation, the title of the topic is yet clear [/ sarcasm]. I do not say I have problems for overtake or braking.
I speak mainly for cars. I do not ask that the traffic speed be as precise as indicated in the table below. But at least it gets closer, especially for cars.
it’s pretty clear for you?
UK speed limits for different roads: https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/legal/speed-limits/

I have my driving license for 20 years. I ride in wolkwagen polo, stealth dodge, 205 gti 1.6, M3 e46 (for 3 years) I was even on lohéac track several times with my M3 e46 and with BMW M Fans friends (we were the only drifter). I also know the Heel-Toe Shifting and a lot of other driving techniques. I tested a plethora of cars of all kinds essentially sports. So trust me I know how to overtake a car that rolls so slowly.
It could be different where you live, but around here traffic does go at all different rates of speed on most types of roads. As an example on our country roads (speed limit 55 mph) it is not uncommon to find cars going as slow as 20 mph or as high as 90. The 4 lane highways are nearly as bad, but generally have a minimum posted speed so you won’t find any 20 mph, but can find anything from 45 - 70 legally and much, much higher illegally. Just because there is a posted speed limit, doesn’t mean everyone will go that speed. The one of the most irritating is when a semi going 56 is passing one going 55 and the speed limit is 70, All perfectly legal (but not pleasant).
So now as a serious answer to you question, no, I do not have any expectation of what speed traffic will be going in any portion of the game. I have observed that much of the type of traffic I see and the speed they are going is based on the type of car I am driving. I truly believe part of this speed situation you are seeing is intentional to be an obstacle, hazzard, distraction, etc . And yes, the tractors are part of this said set of obstacles. In earlier versions of Horizon the traffic was not ghosted in drift zones or speed zones so that added another element to the game. I fully understood what you were going for in your question, but quite honestly I don’t recall having to do excessive braking while driving in traffic.
Sorry if my first comment offended you.
Every night for the last 20 or so years now, I’ve been saying GTA Gateshead should be the next R* title… BTW I meant I don’t have a licence at all (valid or otherwise) as I never did learn to drive. I prefer to be a passenger…
I reassure you, here also there are people who do not respect the speed limits. However in forza horizon it’s all cars, none of trafic cars exceed the limitations. But most importantly they drive at 30 mph instead of 60 mph. In town it is not too bad and on the dual carriage way it is sometimes too slow (50 mph or 60mph max) .For the dual carriageway and motorway (not sure there are motorway in FH4) it would be better if the limit would be minimum at 60mph and max 70-75mph. But the worst it’s on Single carriageways the traffic is too slow, 30mph and rarely 40mph. I tested with a FXXK evo and an aston martins vantage. As much when you drive fast it does not change much and to be honest, traffic is not even a problem. But when you cruise it gets boring especially on the single carriageway. You drive at 60-70mph you slowed down because there is a car in front which drive at 30 mph. you overtake the first trafic car and 100 meters further another car drive at 30mph, you overtake again and 100 meters further another car drive at 30mp, you overtake again and etc etc …
fair enough
What do you mean by fair enough…
it’s sure that if you always ride hard and you do not look for a little realism. it’s fair enough.
But for cruising , and i love cruise in forza horizon 4 even if the map is not big enough, trafic car is really boring anyway i like trafic car.
I like also drive hard and fast in this case trafic speed is no more a problem
An acknowledgment that I have read your recent post and I have a better understanding of your point.
For realism cars could go at different speeds. The ones with the writing above them do go at different speeds. I keep getting rammed by sports cars all of the time in solo mode.
I’m not talking about driveavatars, I’m talking about traffic. [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]
I honeslty don’t know what the devs could do about the speed limits of the traffic. As some people will start to complain they’re going to fast then. But I do know that AI traffic spawn on the side of the road that your car is on the longest. So, lets say you drive on the right side a little longer than the left side. The next traffic car should spawn on the right side you’re on to make you either crash into them or avoid them. So, if you feel you’ve been in one of the lanes too long and no cars have appeared yet, try to switch lanes real quick. This is why it’s so easy for me to avoid the traffic now, their patterns are quite predictable now. I hope that helped with the constant braking part.
I think it’s a pretty good idea, they definitely don’t go 70mph on the motorway, 40 on the A roads and 30 in Edinburgh (20 for some of the smaller streets), while not a massive thing little details like this can always add to the game more than people think until they see it in action.
You should post this on the GTA Forums too, the traffic speed (or lack of) in IV and V is ridiculous, I should not be able to pass every vehicle driving a bus in 1st gear.
