Subaru WRX 2011 Launch Issue

So I’m having an issue in-game where my Subaru isn’t launching properly.

I’m playing with all the assists off and just noticed this problem today with this car.

I start up a test drive and the car kind of hiccups 2MPH at a time up to 6MPH then it works fine. But this sucks because it takes a good 6-8 seconds to launch and get started. Just wondering if anybody knew what I should look at to fix this problem.

Make sure you’re using the stock transmission as the sport and race upgraded tranny will cause a poor launch with this car.

You driving Manual with Clutch? Try tapping the clutch one or more times while throttling at launch.

Yes I’m driving manual with clutch. I’ll try that, but otherwise I guess I’ll change the tranny back. Weird that it causes issues, anybody know if there’s a tune or what I should change the ratios to to maybe combat this?

Hold down the clutch red line the throttle then release the clutch. If it still does it, adjust the final drive towards accel bit by bit until it dosent do it.

I’m pretty sure that turbo lag is the problem.

If you’re launching it you will already be in boost.

In test drive when you try to launch without using the clutch the car will jolt forward and lose revs and eventually it will take off.

You don’t need to use the clutch at the start of a race because the car automatically launches if your redlining your revs when the timer reaches zero. But there is no count down timer in test drive so you need to use the clutch on take off. That is why it’s not launching. Try any car in test drive and the same thing will happen if you don’t use the clutch.

Most of my WRXs do that. I will have the clutch down the throttle down but as soon as i let go of the clutch the RPMs drop to nearly zero and the car hiccups off the line. I found the best way to counter act this is to perform a manual launch control in which your clutch is down but your throttle trigger will be down maybe 50% or until your at 6K rpm. Upon releasing the clutch, mash the throttle down and the car will launch near perfectly.

Thanks everybody for the help
