Hi everyone,
Is anyone else still experiencing this stuttering problem in multiplayer, or is it just me? Stuttering - I mean that looks like FPS is drooping <30 fps (but the fps stats show stable 60 fps).
Update 13 - stuttering persists
Update 14 - stuttering still persists
I’ve tried changing many graphics settings, but the stuttering issue remains. An interesting thing is that sometimes, in practice mode, everything is fine, but as soon as the race starts, the stuttering begins. Occasionally, it even goes away after a couple of laps.
I did a few races in single-player mode, and everything seems fine there. My system is a 7600X with a 4080, so it should be powerful enough. GPU usage is around 50-60%, and CPU usage is around 30%. Latest video drivers. Update 14 installed from scratch.
Not sure if it’s exactly the same problem, but I have similar issue since update 9 or 10.
Basically, the FPS counter and frame time is smooth both in-game and 3rd party overlay. However, when the car is turning, it feel very laggy, like everything around the car only updating at 30 FPS.
Still couldn’t figure out what’s the issue, tried both v-sync on and off, RT on or off, and various graphic settings.
I also does not have this problem in single-player mode at all.
todays 2h racing stats in D class:
first race - qualifying good, races good (Daylight, Sunny)
second race - qualifying good, races stuttering (at the end race gone) (Daylight, Sunny)
third race ( Road America) - qualifying good, races good (Daylight, Sunny)
fourth ( Hakone Circuit ) - qualifying good, races good (Daylight, Sunny)
fifth ( Lime Rock Park) - qualifying stuttering, races good (Daylight, Sunny)
sixth (Sunset Peninsula - qualifying good, races good (night, rain).
so it is impossible to understand why stuttering.
Internet connection - optic internet at my home.
@sumet123, yes, stuttering most felt on turn, sometimes difficult to make clear turn
Update: On Friday, I ran some tests and found the same results—some tracks run smoothly, while others experience stuttering.
Previously, my monitor was connected via HDMI (which supports a maximum of 100Hz, and I was experimenting with DSR settings in some games). I switched back to a DP connection, capped the refresh rate at 165Hz (my monitor supports up to 240Hz), in multiplayer now 83 fps versus 60 fps over HDMI. With these changes, there was no stuttering, and everything ran flawlessly over the weekend.

What race tracks or event shave you noticed performance issues in?
Can you provide video of some of the areas of the track that you see stuttering or performance issues?
I have the same problem, but in singleplayer events. In my case it has been happening for a week, maybe two. Maybe it’s a problem with the new Nvidia drivers (566.14)? More or less since the update stuttering appears. Previously there was no such problem, and certainly not on such a scale as now. In my case it occurs randomly and lasts a few seconds and then the game runs again as if nothing happened. Sometimes once per race, sometimes several times, and other times not once. It’s hard for me to determine if it depends on the track or the time of day. It is random.

It’s been there for the past few updates. I even get slowdown when tuning a car. e.g. only me on the track and no other cars!
