Okay, Street races were some of my favorite things from Horizon 1. They were just so interesting and exciting, and seeing all of the crazy custom cars and racing against them was amazing. The payout was also very nice. But Horizon 2 took that out. But it seems that Horizon 3 has picked it up again, and based on the achievement “I’ll Just Take That Now”, I can infer that Midnight Battles will be 1 on 1 races for pinkslips. Of course, It could be like the final street race at each location in Horizon 1, But I’m hoping for 1 on 1. Street races are just so awesome. I would love to make a sort of league like the competitiveness of the Motorsport games, but in a street race venue, with people just lining up, racing 1 on 1, like a real street race. But maybe I’m just crazy. What do you think about Midnight Battles? Got a different theory?
Edit:
To clarify, the recently released achievement list shows both Street Races and Midnight Battles as achievements. Sorry if you thought I made those up or whatever.
I adored the street races in the first Horizon, for a long time it was more or less all I did. I’m so happy to see them back in Horizon 3, if they are for sure anyway. But those achievements seem to show that it’s very likely. As you said about making a street racing online league, that would be a really cool idea. A series of knockouts and say when you get into the final eight, the stakes go up and the races become pink slips a long with cash. I think that would be really cool, the street racing car culture is brilliant, and being able to have a slice of it in Horizon 3 in that way is a great thing!
Dude, if there were enough people interested, making an exclusive car club or something for people who want to do street race leagues like that would be amazing. I would love to set stuff up and have standings or whatever, with the highest most common winners getting rewards and things. But, quite a few people would be needed for that.
I’m sure a lot of people would be interested if it was advertised on here in it’s own thread. If a set time was set during the beginning of the week and the day was towards the end of the week when it would happen, say Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I think that could work if a club was established for it. Since pink slips would be involved and the loser would have to give up their car in the Auction house for free (since I’m sure gifting still isn’t a thing) I’m sure there would be dishonesty and some people wouldn’t do it. There could be rules that you have to be in the club to participate, and if that kind of behavior is committed, the offender would be banned from the club, thus making them unable to join in the events again.
Well, I would absolutely love to set that up, I’ll plan it out, and make a post about it, see if anyone would care to help out with it. Maybe have set events at the beginning of the week, to allow people to prepare their cars and tunes for it. And we could maybe even use custom events, since that’s a thing now. We will just have to see.
Drag racing is not the extent of street racing. Drag racing is more fun to watch, but on a video game, it is less fun to do. In real life, I wouldn’t know, I’ve never raced before. But, a true test of racing skill comes with corners. Drag racing only tests your shifting and tuning, where circuit races or sprints are much more difficult, and skill definitely is needed, even on a video game.
I agree that drag racing on a game is less fun on a video game if not done properly, but when it comes to real life drag racing, you would need a lot of skill to be good. Yes, if you go to drag strip with grandma’s automatic corolla, you don’t need skills, but try driving a 9-sec street car with stick trans.
I done both, i like more drag because of the intensity it involves, those 10 seconds are intense, and no room for mistakes. In circuit a mistake could cost a lot, but usually you have more time think stuff. So for me, both require skills according the level of competition and cars, neither is easier.
Back to topic, street races and midnight battle sound really fun, can’t wait tomorrow to try street races forza horizon 1.
yeah, I was talking more video game wise, just lining up and doing drags isn’t all that fun, because it isn’t easy to mess up on a straight line in forza. But yeah, real life would be tough to do either one of those, circuits or drag.
Well I’m sorry to burst your bubble and I don’t wanna star a debate or argument but in a drag race I wrong move can send you flying or crashing into another person and wasting loads of time and money. it also just so happens that there are jet cars that have come to my local drag strip and on a quarter mile could exceed 200 mph. Same with funny cars. Anyway back to forza. In forza you can make unrealistic arcadey cars that can go nearly 300mph, it takes skill to get the best time and all that so in a way I think drag and circuit are just as dangerous. Also as a side note alsmost everyone I know as circuit isn’t as big where I live in Saskatchewan Canada my whole family and all my friends prefer drag racing. It’s a way to make more speed and if one mechanism on a drag car goes wrong it’s disaster.
Well, I can say that I enjoy watching drag racing in real life, it is very fun, more fun than circuit races in real life, nothing against drag racing at all. But in Forza, all you need to do is hold the accelerator and shift. You don’t really need to turn. Of course, the tuning and building is important, but circuits and sprints need tuning, but more than a straight line. But hey, to each his own. I see a twisty, tough, narrow road and see that as a perfect place for a 1 on 1 Sprint down the road. Its like Drag, but with turns, and more exciting to do in a game. But again, to each his own.
I’m thinking you’re right about the 1 on 1 thing with the pinkslips, and I’m thinking what if these races are where we get the Horizon Edition cars from?
