I attempted to complete this task while in Remote Play. Neither the stone lanterns nor the cat were anywhere to be found. I watched this video and several others to determine EXACTLY where to look, and could not find these items. I stopped to take care of some errands.
I dropped back in on Remote Play, and saw others stopping and going into photo mode in the same spot where I was parked, so I started the game on my console. The stone lanterns and cat were right there in front of my car but could not be seen in Remote Play.
Has anybody else encountered this glitch?

Am having the same problem.
Interestingly odd. I’m wondering if, even though you can’t see them in Remote Play, if you took the pic anyway (in the right direction of course) did/would it count ? Just curious.
They didn’t appear for me in local game. Took pic anyway and it registered.

If you are having trouble finding the lanterns where they should be try restarting your game. They objects didn’t appear for me at first. Once I restarted and went to the exact location again they were there.
Sometimes this game is buggy end it comes to spawning playlist items. Had the same problem with a previous treasure chest.
I’ve heard this a lot. Just take the photos anyway, they still work!
