Steering Wheel issues with new Thrustmaster TMX. HELP!

Hey guys, I received a playseat evolution and the new thrustmaster tmx in the mail and after some tweaking and some online research its works PERFECTLY with Project Cars, however with Forza Motorsport 6 it’s as if my steering radius is limited regardless of how I tweak the settings… with a controller I could drift my f40 into corners and felt confident doing everything, now I can’t even counter steer my drifts or feel confident pushing any car on a track and bummed about the experience. I was wondering if anyone can give any input. I have tinkered with the settings and nothings really fixed it. Open to all suggestions and willing to try anything. Appreciate it!

Theres a 40+ page thread stickied at the top of the page, you may find some info there. Tbh theres not much advice i can give you besides try normal steering instead of simulation, find a dor that you’re comfortable with many people use 540 and below for drifting but 900 works with some cars and just keep practicing. Forza is different than other games with the wheel, it takes time to learn what the ffb is trying to convey but after awhile hopefully youll get used to it.

The wheel thread is here: http://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst41479_Steering-Wheels-and-You---A-Hopefully-Helpful-Guide.aspx

Remember, you not only need to set the wheel settings on the wheel itself, but in-game (X) for Advanced Options, too. Some people don’t remember that.

Thrustmaster TX owner here.

I echo ops post 100%. Non of my settings or tweaks seemed to work for Forza 6. Driving never felt natural or responsive. The road feel and feedback felt extremely vague and floaty.
After months of trying i gave up. It makes me sad as i am a huge Forza fan, avid painter and tuner.

I only play with the controller now as i was tired of getting frustrated with it.

On the upside i bought Dirt rally and as of last week Project Cars (less than £13 used) to play with the wheel.
Anyone with a TX wheel should buy these games right now! They really make the TX wheel shine.

Road feel, feedback and turn in is fantastic out the gate. The levels of feedback you get from Project Cars is immense! The smiles you get from this game are worth every penny!
No need for tweaks, sensitivity settings, tuning, DOR, settings or fiddling through a PC, it just works how you imagine racing games should work. (Go buy them both right now!)

What really makes me concerned (and laugh) is when playing Dirt rally on loose gravel tracks the cars have more grip than i get in most cars on Forza 6 (HOW! WHY!)

I love you Forza but we need to take a break. It not you, its me!

I have a TMX. Took a while to get it usable. In-game, I’ve got brake and accel at 5-95, rotation at 540, normal steering mode. On the wheel, which works the same as the TX, I’m using paddle shifter + mode button for two blinks (low sensitivity), and D-pad + mode button for either 270 (1 blink) for X and P cars, 360 (2 blinks) for R and S cars, and 540 (3 blinks) for everything else. Weirdly the TMX manual doesn’t mention the on-wheel rotation settings in the manual or online, but they’re there, same as the TX.

While the sensitivity setting is persistent on the wheel, the rotation resets to whatever the in-game settings are before each race (540, for example), so I remember to check and change it on the wheel, which overrides the in-game settings.

The lack of centering force is cruddy, still, but that’s been complained about elsewhere. You can get it drivable despite the flaws.

TX owner here as well. I’d echo Skrewface. Get yourself a copy of Project CARS or F1 2015 (which was on sale for $15 the other day). They’re both much better on the wheel. This game is made for a controller, unfortunately. I bought the TX specifically to play this game because I love it. Now that I’ve got a wheel rig permanently set up, I hardly ever load it up. Those games just feel right. I’ll have my fingers crossed for Forza 7. Heck, maybe they’ll improve the wheel in Horizon 3. One can hope.

I rarely play FM6 any more just because it does’nt feel right with my TX and I have never been good with a pad, so I always stick with games that feel good/right with my wheel. Although lately I been putting The Crew in periodically just for the arcade game play, I don’t own FH2(and The Crew was free) and ever since I seen footage on FH3 I’ve wanted to play a open world game, but Dirt Rally is by far my favorite game on xbox atm.

I’m hoping FH3 will be better with a wheel I really like the addition of stadium trucks & buggy"s, and the environment looks fantastic,

I’m going to call it and say it will be the same as horizon 2, if they improved it it would have been a talking point to help sell the game but it’s pure silence on the matter

From what I have heard the wheel on FH3 feels the same as it does on FM6

Either way they are both as bad as each other

Don’t forget Assetto Corsa for the Xbox One/PS4 on August 26/30th depending on location. Hopefully it will be as good as it is on PC, from what I’ve heard it’s one of the best to play with the wheel out there.

well i got the madcatz pro racing wheel & playseat evolution seat, all i can say is play dirt rally, projects cars for now, assetto crosa will be here soon that too the game will be 1080p
Forza6 is not for a wheel its for joystick racers, either play forza with the joystick or don’t play it, the developers don’t give a shit about wheel users & then t10 call this a simulator, what a joke hahaha…

I use :
Sim steering
630 dor
25 vibration
75 force feedback
100 - 0 deadzones
Clutch 5 inside 45 outside

On the wheel use the 3 flashes sensitivity (right paddle + mode)

Change wheel dor in settings to 360 or 330 for prototypes and up. Dont use the wheel to change dor.

Pretty happy with this setting
