In real life we are able to change lock using parts. Why isn’t there a steering lock part or at least a setting in the tuning options with race suspension. When using race suspension in real life, it’s just a matter of swapping out some parts to change lock. I would love to have options, some cars could be much better drifters if they could only have more lock, and I noticed the E36 HE has a huge amount of lock compared to some (most) other cars.
What do you guys think about this?
yeah i fin’d it kind of weird. as well as most cars barely turn their wheels when driving between 30 and 50mph. the steering assist isn’t set up quite right there.

Forza has never been a Drift specific game, it trys to have a little bit of every motorsport aspect. There are many other games out there, mainly on PC that are catered specifically to drifting. I wouldn’t expect to see any steering lock upgrades in forza anytime soon. This is not the first thread asking for such upgrades
I generally use front toe out to simulate higher steering angle and it works well enough. Obviously it isn’t ideal because you’re dragging the trailing tire, but when you initiate the leading tire has all of the load and that’s when you need the most angle to catch the car.
The important thing to keep in mind is that if you want to drift in this game you can’t worry too much about keeping your settings in line with what would work in real life. Sometimes things that are very wrong on a real car will just play well with the simulation and how it handles different things to make the car behave in a more realistic way.
I agree though, it would be cool to see drifting be given a little more attention throughout the entire game experience. Drift zones are a nice addition and they’re pulling more of the culture in with some of the cars and brands that have been introduced, maybe we’ll see drift specific tuning options sometime in the future.
Front toe out is an old trick, but a nice one indeed. Only I feel it’s limited to about 1.5 degrees max.
If the developers ever want to give RWD a chance against AWD on the scoreboards, we need much higher lock to be possible. Reverse entries are pretty easy in the game with AWD and enough power, but with RWD it’s just not possible to maintain near 90 degrees of drift angle for any sustained length of time, even with the improved HE drift skill steering lock.
If you look at drift competition in real life you see ridiculous lock and caster on pretty much every car and it would be the biggest game changer to have that in a realistic videogame for the first time.
Check this one out for example.
And while you’re at it, enjoy Denofa sticking an insanely close follow run on Gittin’s inside
There a few things you can try that help push your RWD cars past 90° angles, like toe angles +4,0 in the front and -0.2 in the rear, make the front tryes bigger and the backs smaller or stock, use street tyres as well, make the front of the car sit higher than the back, use a lower tyer pressure! All these can help push a car past 90° angles
