I need serious help drifting… I kill it in Assetto Corsa and that took me two weeks to learn, I thought it would just transition right over. I don’t see how drifting can be so much different in other games. New to the Forza series. I even tried downloading other people’s tunes, but I can’t seem to hold the drift. When I initiate with the E-brake or Clutch kick it will drift and most times it will snap back. Nothing seems to work, I cant hold the drift even if I feather the throttle. Transitioning seems impossible, in Assetto Corsa I can predict where my car is going and drifting is easy… In Forza I got no clue where it will end up next cause its just too snappy. Any help with tuning?
If you are using simulation steering it will seem a lot snappier, If so, Try using ‘Normal’
Impossible to use “simulation” on controller. Used it on FH2 and FM6, but it’s just too twitchy for Horizon 3. Hopefully, it’s fixed in an update, I want the realism and challenge of sim steering.
Not going to happen. Simulation is a 1:1 ratio of to a steering wheel. This is meant only for driving wheels. To use an analog stick you would have to adjust the sensitivity. This would put you back at standard. Your basically turning the wheel multiple times when you fully hold in any direction. Trying to counter steer when your crooked going off a jump to make a turn the other way, good luck. You would have condition yourself to apply very small amounts of pressure while your hands are already locked tense in a race. The Xbox elite controller would help a little (or any controller) that has elevated analog sticks as an option. You have much more swing/range. I gave up after a race of trying to counter constant oversteer on a straightaway… Almost as bad as playing with a directional pad.
I don’t use sim steering. but it’s possible to give yourself better control over the horizontal range of stick motion by pushing forward on the stick. That then makes the steering range a crescent instead of a shorter straight line. It also feels more like a wheel, with your thumb at the 12 o’clock position on straights.
It’s not “Impossible” I use it all the time with a controller
FYI I drift on a wheel with 900 rotation, and on simulation. Is it that hard to drift with these settings?
I use sim as well with a controller, I prefer it actually. What you need to do (imo) is tune the car so that it compliments your style of driving. Downloading tunes are pointless to me because you can’t tweak em to where you feel right with how the car is handling, we all have different preferences and or needs.

I could not agree more
Seems like changing the driving to Normal helped. The car is much more predictable now and not so snappy. Does anyone drift w simulation and a wheel?

I’ve tried it, And it’s quite difficult. It seems to be if you want to drift with sim steering, Don’t put slicks on (It may seem obvious, But that makes it really snappy)
