Are the higher turn radius upgrades only available on the drift car pack or all the cars and if all the cars how do I access it???
I am not a drifter and it always shows. However as I understand FM7 was going to get a slider to increase the turning radius for drifting. As I understand it to be a slider that at one end it is just like the original tune and the other end is a faster turning, larger turning radius to help with drifting. We set it at whatever level we are comfortable with, but I can’t find anything anywhere. Is this just for the upcoming drift cars that we are getting for pre ordering Forza Horizon 4 only or all the cars in FM7?
Any help on this is appreciated.
Go to upgrade and then the steering and suspension section. Purchase drift steering upgrade. Once installed, go to tune and then the steering section. At the bottom is the new steering angle adjustment. Adjustable from 0-60. And it really makes drifting so much easier. Like night and day difference for me. But I wasn’t great before.
I’ve only checked it on the E46 M3 but I believe it should be available on all cars. If I remember right, it should be located next to the Race Suspension in the Upgrades section. Once you got it installed you can then tune it under the Alignment tab to how much angle you want.
Thanks for the response PTG Korniis95…going to go and check it out right now😃
Thanks for the info chuteboxehero1… Going to go check it out now.
Just wanted to point out a few interesting things I noticed about the drift suspension, for racing. First off, you can put the drift suspension on a lot more cars than I expected. For example, a P1 can now have drift suspension! Secondly, the lowest it seems you can make the steering angle is 40*. Thirdly, I looked at FH3’s Developer Build Files and found something quite interesting. I found the Steering Angle for the cars in the game. I’ll give a few examples:
2016 Ford Shelby GT350R = 42*
2016 Mercedes C63 AMG = 42*
2000 Nissan Silvia Spec R = 50*
If we assume that the steer angle is the same in FH3 & FM7, which I think is reasonable to assume, then adding the drift suspension can lower some car’s steer angle which could be really good for racing. Another thing that shocked me was that you can now make the car’s steering angle reflect the car IRL in some cases. Just a thought for those who like racing or making realistic tunes, this update may help racers as well as drifters. Now please please please Turn 10! Make the race suspension allow us to lower the steering angle more! I beg of you! But man, what an update!
Haven’t had the chance to try the new suspension yet, but I’m assuming that cars like the Lotus Elise or the EK9 Civic will probably fly on short tracks with this suspension equipped.
i love the new update but please tell me its a bug that you can gain points in a straight line drifting… That is 1 thing i DO NOT like about this new update, its so unrealistic in so many ways. people can just drift on the straights just to catch up in drift points and get in first… good job Forza… great job. ITS NOT FORZA HORIZON!
It’s not a bug. I believe there was a red name post in the August content update thread that went over the drift scoring changes and they specifically mentioned there were no longer going to be “drift zones” so you could drift on straights and potentially chain an entire track.
well forza has always been a realistic type of game, ive played forza since xbox 360.
From the very first post by ManteoMax in the aforementioned thread:
"Drift Scoring
In tandem with the drift upgrades and tuning, we’ve also introduced an updated drift scoring system into Forza 7. With the August Update, drift scoring will be based on three criteria – Speed, Angle, and Line. All three of these elements will be displayed on screen with a real-time scoring information, along with your traditional drift score total. Importantly, light wall taps won’t drop your drift score and, as with the updated track limits in traditional races, getting two wheels out of the track limits (such as both rear wheels, for example) won’t drop your drift score.
Another important change: Drift zones have been completely removed from tracks, which means you can now manji drift down straights and earn drift score, and you can also completely link a track together with a single drift."
Yes I am also not fond of this change, removing drift sectors was a bad move IMO. As if the online lobbies weren’t a crash fest enough everyone trying to rack up points for the whole track is going to be a nightmare, and will basically force you to use a 1000+hp car if you want to be competitive.
I think this is a great new feature that will be helpful even for precision drivers. It massively improves turn in response and does away with some of the understeer that the game has due to the controller caps, speed sensitive steering, etc. Even if you keep the degrees to the lowest setting, you will see improved turn in at entry and apex.
I don’t think Forza Has been all that “Realistic” since it’s inception.
I’ve played Forca since the original XBOX 1.
That is correct - I just replied to a post by Dan the Dartman, citing the same. Drift suspension does improve driving for precision drivers by improving turn in response and grip at the apex. It’s a fantastic feature and what you just suggested at the end, would be an excellent addition.
I am surprised that lowering the steering angle hasn’t been a complete feature yet. It can clearly be done. Would make a world of difference imo.
All that’s going to happen now is people will be slowly manji’ing the whole circuit just fast enough to register a score and not actually drifting at all.
Scoring drifting is subjective and not something you can accumulate points for realistically. The whole concept doesn’t work IMO. Somebody with minimal skill can work out a technique that’ll score more points than someone who is genuinely talented.
The best drifters will always score more than beginners, no matter what the rules are. Same goes for the new rack limits, the fastest drivers will always be faster, no matter which corners can’t be cut anymore. It’s like a football/soccer team moaning about the state of the pitch, or the heat. Both teams have the same conditions, making excuses is not valid.

It’s not so much that that is the issue though, by removing drift sectors you fundamentally change the way a track is drifted and how you build/tune the car to do it.
Now cars in MP are going to be manji-ing all over the place making even trying to overtake a slower car an absolute nightmare.
