Starting Grid

Why is there absolutly no way to improve my starting Grid, why is there no qualifing? i mean come on, i know this is a casual racing arcade but still… if it wasnt bad enought on higher difficulty you always have to fight your way through all the massive extremly bad AI, if theres no good start youre done on shorter races. cannot believe how bad the ai and so many details in this game still are abside the imense technical issues, i mean this is a Tripple A Gaming Studio, how can it be that this is release Quality at all?

Yeah the AI is horrible, maybe, more than any other race game. I asked the same question, why no qualifying. Some actually defended the no qualifying in this game, bc most would not use it. I would use it, and would enjoy it aswell.

even a very quick casual two laps time qualifiing, depending on “AI” difficulty or something fast and easy like that would help; i wanna play at higher difficulty but it just makes no fun with no qualy or this stupid drivatar crash behavior… such a dissapointment

+1, I would use it everytime. Most races have too many drivatars to begin with, starting in the top 5 would already make things much more enjoyable at the start of the race.

I’m on board with the idea of qualifying as well, or even mixing up your starting point randomly to some extent. I sure as heck wouldn’t use qualifying every race but I sure would at tracks where being in front at corner 1 can be huge, like Spa.

Qualifying in a race game should be a natural thing IMO. You have tracks, you have race cars, you have points, you have a starting grid, you have practice/test, you have tuning and upgrading(well not much upgrading when your running the cup) I would say qualifying fits.

Change the race length to Long and pull over to one side at the start of the race. Floor the throttle when you’re dead last…

a) you avoid the first corner bonanza
b) you get to pick off as many drivers as possible, which is fun
c) more chance of getting perfect passes etc

Yes, occasionally you’ll still win easy and occasionally the AI will be inexplicably fast, but it all evens out across events. I’ll even go as far as giving a place back if I take one unfairly.

I’d be on board with qualifying.
