Not many people actually use Split screen any more (Majority don’t although yes of course some still do) with the internet being a thing these days which is probably why not much thought has been put into that mode on FM5/FM6
I know not many use it, but it is something I always do with my son. We had so much fun on FM4, but 5 was horrible and now 6 hasn’t fixed it. Just a bit disappointing.
The opinion is that not many people use It but In actual fact I bet you would be suprised. People don’t use split screen because it’s so appallingly terrible there’s no other choice.
Me and my brother have on a number of occasions gone out lookng to buy a decent 2 player game to spent our Saturdays playing.
The only game I found remotely fun on split-screen was Goldeneye on the 64. I don’t know why people are amused by playing on a chunk of the screen rather than all of it.
But It stinks that its not useful for those that enjoy it certainly.
Yeah split screen was a 90s thing when online gaming was not as popular as now.I think back to how awful it was… Im sure this is a very small percentage of people using it.Not very important to turn ten.Bigger fish to fry.Im sure its important to you but to most of the community I would assume not…IMO OF COURSE.
I always enjoyed split screen. Yes its great when your friends are online, but sometime they come and visit and some side by side action is in order. I would love all the options. How about Replay! So many great races lost forever!!
I hope there is a update to revive this need. The goal is to make the best Racing Game after all right?
I love using split screen. In FM3 and FM4 I used Split screen more than any other feature in the game.
In Forza 5 and Forza 6 I cannot split screen when my friends come over. If nothing else, they cannot share the cares in my garage so player 2 is limited to stock rental cars and thus, to be fair, so am I. I still use split screen but not as much, why? It’s been destroyed by the studio. Their justification is that all my friends should go out an buy an Xbox One and Forza 6 and play it a bunch but that’s just not realistic. Even if they did all have an Xbox One and Forza 6 if we’re hanging out together are we going to set up a bunch of consoles and tvs in my living room and play private online ? - NO.
@Dangerboy4020: Yeah no. Sacrifices need to be made would mean that for split screen the max car amount on field is limited to 12. Split screen does not otherwise force the game to do anything it doesn’t already do in multiplayer or career and in fact, multiplayer is more stressful on the console than split screen.
Turn10 its really sad that you didnt make split screen like in forza 3 and 4…
We use to enjoy drift racing against each other but now we cannot do that because the secondary player can not use my (player1) tuned cars, they have to “rent” a stock car.
Also there is no option changing the HUD, as it would be cool to eneble the drift hud…
you cannot change the game mode (race, drag, drift etc)
another dissapointment was that you couldnt change the camera view to inside the veichle (copit view)
really think this is a sloppy work from you as i would expect better improvments from the forza 5 and its pretty much a copy/paste senario.
You should definitly consider fixing this and maybe add a save reply option for it aswell that would been great!
Here’s my view on it:
Yes online gameplay has become more popular and I can see why a lot of games focus on this. When I was younger I would get home from school jump on the xbox and we would all play online together.
I’m now 24 and I play a very select few games whenever I get chance. I probably have 1 or 2 friends who have an Xbox one and as we all work and have other commitments it’s unrealistic to expect us to be online at the same time. Also many of my friends either have a play station or 360.
The only time we game together is when we all gather at somebodies house for a few beers and a pizza. We then have a good laugh on split screen.
I can’t be the only one who is in this position and to me it seems wise for T10 to cater to our market given that I am the one with money who can easily afford to go buy every dlc. And I have done since FM3. T10 earn far more money from me than some teenager who will only buy the £45 game and
If you care about it that much YOU go pull data and show that it gets used enough for them to improve it. I have never used split screen on Forza and nor do I care for it IMHO.
I mean this is how, internally, a development company can convince the decision makers that a feature is not worth developing or including in future iterations.
None of us can pull the data on how many people use any given feature, that’s completely locked out to us.
But they will have access to this kind of thing and you can bet it gets rolled up into reports via some kind of data warehouse and business intelligence tool that gets used to justify decision making.
So there are very obvious ways to manipulate things to get reports to support certain agendas.
Split screen means people have to be in the same place to play. Welcome to the end of the social face to face interactions. People tdont hang out any more they face time people don’t play together any more they play online. Drive past most parks their empty. It’s the way the world is going you see it in everything from games to life.
