Im interested too. In 6 it was clear that the tech was starting to be a problem as there were features that couldnt be used in splitscreen like weather/night tracks. There was no car colour choice, and the mini map didnt rotate, so I wouldnt be surprised if it was left out this time.
Of course there is the variable of the XB X now. If the full race features were available in a split screen mode that was necessarily exclusive to the XB X Id be a lot closer to buying one thats for sure.

Nice. What I’m interested in is if they are going to try coop campaign after its success in Horizon 3. It might mess with things if there is a placing requirement, but it would make the grind a bit more fun and/or give one more purpose once finished.
I would seriously hope that “Yes!” is the answer to all of these questions. I would GLADLY take a huge hit to graphics, for the sake of such gameplay features/functionality.
As mentioned on the german website gamestar.de, Bill Gease mentioned in an E3-Interview, that the SplitScreen-Mode as known in the Xbox-Version of Forza might not upcome to the PC-Version.
Well - so it is time to say, that the SplitScreen-Mode is heavily demanded and it needs to be known/forwarded and commented by any official developer of this game. Seriously the PC-Players need this as well. Don’t let us miss this great Feature. The additional effort to realise this Mode might not be that high as this mode will “already” be developed for the Xbox-Version.
translated by analogy, it means: If the SplitScreen-Mode as seen in the Xbox-Version might come to the PC-Version however is not certain Article from gamestar.de
Well - so if there is a way to arrive the right persons for this Case it would be awesome.
Greetings from Germany. My English-Skills are hopefully as good as they need to be.
I used to love split-screen gaming when I was younger but being realistic I think we as fans need to let it go. If we want our favorite video game series to be the absolute best it can be (pushing the console to its limits) we cannot expect said game to be able to render mind-blowing graphics twice over (split-screen).
Or we could make devs earn their paychecks and build a system that supports split screen. With over a trillion operations every second, there is zero reason a video game cannot support split screen.
I am so saddened by many games dropping split-screen, but the future looks bright. Halo 5 caught a lot of flak for removing split-screen and Microsoft has said that Halo 6 will definitely have it. And many indie games and the Nintendo Switch have proved that local multiplayer is still massively popular.
You’re making a lot of assumptions without any base in reason. If you want a game to be the best version of itself its nonsense to demand it can do it twice at the same time. Its 2017, gaming evolves and changes with time just like everything else.
There is no reason it could’t scale down for Split Screen. The problem with split screen isn’t graphics, its features.
Game designers these days spend little (or no) time on split screen because they don’t see it as cost effective for their time, end of story. It has nothing to do with with resources of the console. There have been plenty of games that don’t run at full spec in split screen to accommodate “running it twice” without any issues, there is no reason Forza couldn’t do the same.
Cerrax , maybe you’ve heard that other games that USED TO BE like Forza are cutting down tremendously in scope and variety, right?
Maybe developers are indeed earning their paychecks and maybe its just you dont understand the effort and cost it takes for a big game like this?
THE DAGZ is on the right track. Split-screen simply isnt a priority anymore, everything is done for online multiplayer. The current state of split-screen play in Forza is an indication of that. They’ve removed all of theAI drivers so split screen is just 2 cars on a track.
Yes, game development is harder than its ever been. Yes, game development is more expensive than its ever been.
But if you really want a feature to shine, you will find a way to make it fit. I am grateful that T10 still offers split-screen at all, but it is woefully underwhelming compared to the rest of the game. It is obvious that split-screen is an afterthought for them. Otherwise it would be a much better experience.
They chose graphics, and content, and physics rather than game modes. And I’m fine with that. But then why provide split-screen at all when its barely even a real gameplay mode?
