I would just like to get a technical question answered about the sound in FM5 so I can determine if it is the game, setup or my sound system.

Whilst the sound is excellent in FM5 I am having some issues with some cars. I will use this example car: VW Scirocco R, C class tuned.

Whilst hotlapping or away from another car the sound is fine. If a car with a reasonable sounding engine note is nearby I cannot hear a thing! Friend was in a BMW M3 E30 and I had to let him past as I could not race him whilst I had to always look at the rev counter and the road at the same time. I found moments where I was hitting the limiter because I could not hear the rev range. If anything with a V8 is near me then thats it…I hear nothing from my car no matter what view I use. I have experienced this with quite a few cars now including the Toyota GT86. I have tried as many settings ingame as I could but cannot seem to stop this problem

I am running my xbox through a Hi-Fi system with 2 speakers, no sound through monitor.

Any help would be greatly received.

I consider that VERY realistic LOL. I was at a track awhile back driving a McLaren 12C and I got lapped by a fully built Cobra track car. I couldn’t hear the 12C AT ALL while that cobra was behind me, and still couldn’t till he got a good 2-3 turns ahead LOL. (The McLaren could’ve taken that mustang BTW, but I was learning the track when he got up to me, boo made it up by tracking down and passing a GTR on the third lap :P) Note - that was in the real world not forza :P. It should even be worse on tracks like indy where the walls are big and nearby, the echo of the other louder car could easily drown out your own. (This can really be a pain with the Lotus, as they’re all loud and sound the same, so when you’re running that class of car it’s difficult sometimes to distinguish your own if your in a pack of several.
