Sound options and adjustments

+1 Agreed.

While I appreciate the improvements to the audio overall, the fact that I can hear other engines better than mine needs to be addressed asap.

As others have said, a slider function like FH2 would be perfect.

I have the same issue. Other cars are about all I hear when they are close. And even when the other cars are on the other side of the track from me when I’m driving I hear them as loud or louder than my car at times. Just seems a bit much. I should be able to hear my car much better.

My setup:
Forza set to home theater
HDMI to receiver
5.1 surround speakers
Have also used ultimate ears 6000, and Sennheiser Momentum headphones, and my Polk gaming headset plugged into the controller with the same issue

Have used both the simple TV speakers and a 5.1 surround sound setup and the issue persists with both.
Forza set to TV while using the TV speakers and set to home theater when using that.
HDMI to TV and to receiver on other setup.

Please add sliders.

Add me to those having audio issues, specifically the AI’s audio being too loud. Am really struggling with shifting in some cars as i have to look at the HUD when i should be watching the track ahead of me. Sublime game otherwise, congrats T10…

Hi Brian/Mech,

Sadly must add my vote to those having sound issues, all Forzas are ok except 6 (which otherwise brilliant game) - when racing you barely can hear your car, which wasnt the case in lets say FM4 where you could choose some sound options, other cars around totally “eating” your car sound, and to change gears you need constantly look at rev gauge, which is very annoying
No other Forza has this issue, and main reason i stopped playing, because i dont want ruin my experience with further progress until sound is fixed
Playing with headphones, through pc,Creative SB Z (Win 7x64) and can say that no problems on my end whatsoever - all other Forzas sound ok

I have the same issue. I love this game. And I’ve always loved controller layout 11. (Shifting with the right stick). I always loved how I could go by engine sound like a in a real car for perfect shifting using the entire power band. Now in F6 I have to wait until I’m in 1st place well ahead to do that. So now my first 1/4-1/2 or lap or so is less than my best because all I hear is 23 other cars screaming.

I get the realistic sound intention of a dynamic mix but in a real car I would be able to feel the engine as well as hear it. So in a game there has to be a compromise to get that effect. In this case we need sound sliders. Too many other things are loud from the menu noises to the other cars. I want to hear my car loud not the menu noises and other cars blasting my face off.

PLEASE GIVE US AUDIO MIX SLIDERS (LIKE IN PAST FORZA GAMES) TO ADJUST THE ENGINE/TIRES ETC. SOUND Fix that, and I am one happy racer! xD Except the Drivatar system. Ugh!

If memory serves. F4 and back had this.

Car sounds are very, very quiet yet menu sounds are very loud. Race Cars seem to be more quiet then upgraded road cars, specifically the C7.R and the Viper GTS GTLM car are quiet compared to their road going counterparts, as for the C7.R road-going muscle cars such as the GT350R, GT500’s and V8 swapped cars are much louder. I don’t know if this is designed like this but viewing the cars in real life the C7.R is so loud it shakes your chest when it goes by. I also experience ridiculous amounts of sound glitches, where one specific sound gets stuck and repeats infinitely until I restart my system.

Also seems like the opponent cars are so much louder then mine, the Nissan 350z especially just ROARS the whole time. I don’t mind it as I love the sound of a VQ35 but it does seem a little off.

Also I have read the telemetry issue in replays, but I am having sound glitches in the replay. Nightfall series, volume 2, Volvo 850R with stock engine+ cams and in the replay when I watch myself all I hear is a RB26 from a GT-R, and it’s clearly a different car because the shift points and throttle up-sounds are in time with the GT-R in the race, not me. Unable to replicate in saved replays, only happens in post race replays.

EDIT: More info, in race music is off, TV volume is off (using headset), Xbox is set to “Headphone” setting, bass boost is all the way up (3rd of 3 settings on the headset). Mic is muted both on Xbox settings and headset settings.

Myself and I’m sure the whole communitywould appreciate independent audio sliders for engine volume, tire volume and such like FH2 and other racing games.

It’s my first post guys, thanks for helping me out.

Does anyone have a problem with the sound of the supra? What I mean is it sounds so crappy compared to the r34, the r34 sounds amazing and I feel that the supra sounds ugly and quiet , supras in real life sound way more mean and loud, way make the r34 so loud and amazing sounding but not the Supra  is it cause the developers perfered making the r34 sound good and not so much on the supra? I would really like to see them fix this and make it sound more like a supra from hell.

I’m not sure what you’re on about here; the Supra sounds brilliant in FM6, I would say better than 5. Make sure you’re game sound is set to Home Theater. What sound set up do you have? What are your console sound settings?

1200hp supra sound

^^^^ That link For example listen to this beast of a supra . Why can’t it sound anything like that.

Because that’s a very specific, one off, unique sound, exclusive to that particular cars build and layout. To say T10 should of directly visited this guy and recorded this exact car, is preposterously unrealistic. Not all Supras with 1200HP sound like this, let alone are they easily available for recording sessions.

Yeah I understand that one for sure but what I’m saying is they did a Amazing job on the r34 sound and the supra jus sounds boring . It should sound meaner like the r34 does even the regular one sounds amazing .

Just please don’t lower the other cars sounds just make yours louder… I love hearing other cars

I know T10 has stated they are working on a patch but Do we know when it’s coming out ? I love 6 but the sound is driving me nuts. I miss so many shifts cause I can not hear my car over the opponents around me

I’ve not seen any comment from T10 about a patch. I think they have said they have heard that we are concerned but that is the extent that I know of.

Unless someone can point me to an official statement that is more than an offhand comment made halfway through a 12 hour twitch stream?

Forza 6 i love it so far.One thing that really needs help is the ability to turn audio down on other cars,I cannot hear mine when they are near me especially at beginning of race.
I hope this isn’t landing on deaf ears.Someone please fix

I’ve been finding the game difficult to play because of this and the AI problem. I can’t help but feel having brought the ultimate edition early access was more like beta testing.

All they said in the twitch stream was the GT350R doesn’t have the right sound file and will be patched.

Also like I posted in the other sound thread… It doesn’t matter what car I take, I can’t hear my engine for dick. Doesn’t matter the track or if I have a race exhaust… Its always the same result of people 1000ft back drowning out my car. I play in 3rd person so the exhaust note should be clear as a bell. Please update this and the 350R noise!
