Is it possible that you had a map filter set with the player houses deselected when you last played on your laptop? I only play FH4 on a single device so I’m not sure if search customizations are saved to the cloud. I would think not; but again, I’m not 100% sure. The strange part is that you’re still seeing “The Gables” house, which shouldn’t appear if you deselected the player houses from your map filter.
Anyway, I’m not sure what the keyboard command is for the map filter on PC, but for an Xbox console it’s the right push button at the front of the controller (not the trigger) when in Map View. However, I suppose it’s possible that you could be experiencing a game progress issue due to a faulty cloud save (as you suggested), and probably should consult Support if your map filter settings appear to be correct.
