With Season 3 the map filter function keeps disappearing (for me at least). The PGUP (or whatever button it was) is nowhere to be seen most of the time. It happens in freeroam whether I choose the map from the menu or press M to check the map.
Anybody else see this? I’ve submitted a ticket but it would be interesting to know if other players experience the same thing.
I’m playing on Windows 10 btw.
I’ve had that before. A restart should fix it.
It doesn’t help when I restart the game. I just got the PGDN filter button back after finishing a road race (festival Bentley challenge). Before Series 3 it was always there.
I’ve lost the ability to filter the map on Xbox One X in some cases but haven’t focused on when that occurs. My sense of it at least for my case is it seems to happen after coming out of certain events. Generally going back to Home, upgrade a car, exit to freeroam and drive away from the area where you can enter the house or site then allows the map filter to work. But this might be a different case than if you’ve rebooted and can’t filter the map in any scenario. If I see any new info on this I’ll post it - please also update the thread if you get some info from your ticket.
You aren’t alone, I’ve had this occur 3-4 times now.
Restart fixes it for me, nothing else works otherwise.
This filter bug has happened to me alot. It’s very anoying. It’s just as bad as the controller vibration bug where you had to restart the game. Fortunately the latter appears fixed for now.
I’m still losing vibration after leaving Horizon Open. Pretty annoying. It makes a huge difference to the feel while driving. You don’t realize how much until you try racing without it.
I get the same feeling when my controller batteries get low mid-race, there’s enough juice left to keep playing for ~15 minutes but the loss of vibration screws everything up (similar to switching to PS or back to an older Xbox which doesn’t have trigger vibration).
Why don’t you automatically restart game when this happens? I honestly couldn’t play when this happened to me for reasons you state.
It probably depends what you are doing…the vibration generally returns when you re-enter a race so you only lose it during free roam. Sometimes if you are racing with others in a convoy, it’s easier to just live with it.
To be honest, you kind of get used to it after a while…I always expect either the vibration to stop working or the audio (except for the skill points) disappearing, sometimes both at once…then sometimes having the map filter disappear.
Yeah, fortunately I’ve only experienced this once and was extremely confused, because it’s not that the filters didn’t appear when I pressed right trigger, the option on the HUD at the bottom completely removed the filter icon and button artwork.
Although I’ve not experienced the vibration suddenly stopping working, I’ve constantly had the controller disconnect, which is not great but I can work around it by using my wheel in the meantime. But since release, about 15 seconds before the controller disconnects, the game turns into a slideshow, making it almost impossible to continue doing anything.
And with my luck, it’s always during an online event like Eliminator or Horizon Open.
