It seems pointless and a waste of time having a leader-board that it is never possible to get in to top 5, so why not just remove the leader-board as it seems even the slowest drivers can get to the top of it. The whole point of having a leader-board is to have competitive target to chase with the hope of been number one.
There are now 6 circuits where at least the number 1 or 2 or 3 & 4 slot is taken by a slow driver, this whole thing is pointless, why have it there if it doesn’t do what it supposed to, or stop calling it a leader-board and call it something else, come on FH2 sort it out, project cars is just around the corner FM6 may not sell any if their product works better than yours and based on the latest 2 Forza products that may not be too difficult to beat.
Having reread your post I think you mean you have found a handful of “glitched” times. But even then I am confused you can be so certain when they are not all #1 times.
Now if there are genuinely glitched times then they should be removed from the leaderboards no question.
But I don’t see why that means the leaderboards should be done away with.
If I see a #1 time that is very clearly glitched and I am capable of getting the #2 time which would be the best legit time then I will do so and be satisfied with my best legit time. I honestly do not get the big deal about this.
It is not like we have a glitched #1 on every leaderboard.
What I also find intriguing about this is that (and I know I will come across as a so and so because of saying this) but the people usually complaining about this are not those I see competing in the top ten so I am not sure why it is an issue for them.
That’s odd, I’m confused because there are several events where I was able to get to number 1 at one point and some where I even stayed there until faster people passed me.
If they made it to the top 5 on the leaderboard how can you say they are slow drivers? In fact, on that track signs point to them being the 5 fastest drivers - and of course times that are clearly glitched do not count. Sometimes the leaderboard glitch and incorrectly display information most typically in FH2 displaying the original stock class of a car instead of the upgraded PI as it was raced but this is due to server issues.
I think the issue at hand may be that you yourself cannot get into the top 5 spots on the leaderboard.
As for your assessment of Project Cars and Forza Motorsport 6 I think you may be wrong. Typically in a game, the biggest issues and gameplay issues are fixed first and take priority, and the leaderboards do get reset from time to time and in reality - not a huge game breaking issue. Project Cars if t continues to get delayed will never be released. No game will ever be 100% bug free when it comes to online gameplay and at some point you get to a stage where you simply have to release it. If the games and physics works, the major bugs and glitches are resolved, and the game is playable it should be released and yet here we are - still waiting for Project Cars. As for Forza Motorsport 6 I guarantee you your statement is wrong - I am hoping to buy a copy if it all goes well so - at least 1 will be sold.
I’ve had the pleasure of battling in the top 10 on a few occasions (though my times have been pushed down the ladder by now). My opponents were many things, but they were NOT slow.
Here’s an example of what BeeGea’s talking about. Look at the leader board times for Circuit Grandiose in S1 class. The top 5 times are impossible to hit at that track. If those times are erased, everybody would move up 5 positions. Everyone. I doubt I’lll get into the top 10 or even top 20. But I have hit top 50 at some tracks. Would be nice to see my laps recorded correctly. I worked hard to get those times, as everyone has. A true record of that time and effort aint too much to ask…Charles. PS…adding the triangle with the exclaimation for dirty laps would be a good thing also.
Go look for yourself. 38 seconds for a lap around Grandiose? This is just one example. Leader boards are a big part of the game for a lot of people. Im sure you know this as you compete on the boards yourself. You also know that one dosent just pop in and set a best ever time. Takes a lot of laps and tuning. Just seems wrong to see the top 5 laps glitched or worse…Charles
During the first week of release there were top times being set that I was never going to get near because I refuse to wall ride. I learned to ignore the glitch times as well. Those glitch times could possibly be caused by server issues.
That has not stopped me from enjoying my time spent running rivals every day. I enjoy the satisfaction of going faster than my last best time. Improvement is always my goal and if I get near the top that is icing on the cake. Horizon 2 is a free roam game with few rules and I’m ok with that. I know I’m having fun and I don’t take this game that seriously.
I like not having dirty lap penalties. It’s a not so serious game. FM6 will be serious and have dirty lap penalties. You think it is hard to get into the top 50 in Horizon 2? Wait until Project cars and FM6 comes out. If you can top 50 in those you are good. Top 50 in Horizon 2 is not difficult. I did 10 laps on Grandiose this morning in an S1 lotus and got 1:16.006. You should have no problem bettering your position from 173 into the top 100. It’s about 1 or 2 seconds away. That possible by going faster thru one or two turns.
You are right, it’s not that impressive but it is 33 on the board. The last time I checked it was the fastest time in the Lotus and I only did 10 laps. Feel free to set a faster time and I will try to beat it. I like competition.

And Deeper Demons I think that was his point entirely. He is in 33rd with a 6 second gap to first, that means it must be super easy to make it into the top 50 on that track. OP is just complaining for the sake of complaining.
If glitched times are possible and if they remain for extended periods of time on the leaderboards then its a bad thing and the glitch should be fixed and the times should be wiped.
We are not there yet but it is still possible to enjoy leaderboard running by being satisfied if you run a quick legit time whether it be top 100, top 50 or the #1 time.
I just don’t get the end of the world reaction to this.
