So dissapointing

im trying to enjoy this game but it honestly try’s SO HARD to remind me how bad it is every single time i start it up…

the pc interface is like some cheap console port from the 2000’s.
the ai is some of the worst i have ever seen in a racing game.
the progression system, even with the reduced xp requirement, is just a pain in the butt.

devs said they wanted to players to bond with the car, ok great concept i approve, but the way you chose to do it gives us no choices. i cant directly choose what car i want to race, the devs do.
i cant choose what parts i want to put on a car when i want to, the devs do.

leveling up a car feels horrible because just when i start to get it settled down new parts a unlocked in this slow trickle. no i have to re-tune the car all over again. and with each new part i have to completely exit the event to apply them. everything comes in fits and starts. there is no flow to it.

i loved choosing a car, picking a class, putting on the parts and creating a tune to best fit that class. it was done on my terms i chose how to go about it. it was rewarding and challenging.

frankly the new system feels like the only player type they want to cater to is people who dont care about making a connection with a car, and just hitting quick upgrade on what car the game tells them to play.

i dont agree. you also have to re-tune evrrytime because you dont have enough money for the parts. i like the system. i dont want everythinfg unlocked right from the get go. i want to feel the car and then bond with it and tune it. add somethigng here add something there. i dont wanna buy a skyline and tune it to the max, cant drive with it and then leave the game and never return. i wanna have a meaningful connection. some people dont like that, im sure, but they can play horizon for an arcady feel. i think morotsport is more of a “sim racer” because you have this connection with the car and the pit.
i agree on other points but the car xp i strongly disagree with.

We get it, you only race solo. Literally nothing stopped you from slowly upgrading a car in previous Forza games. Gatekeeping standard features from the series is a bad decision, full-stop.

yes i like how if you want to upgrade you need to do some miles

If the upgrades worked just like any of the previous Forza games, I would have way more than enough to never worry about upgrades. So if you had to race more to upgrades your car, you were managing credits badly.

Also, this feature actually made me stop using cars once I reached max affinity. So it failed the intended goals if it was to « bond with the car ».

Worst AI in ANY racing game. Not even a caveat there.

Race an Oval. See how stupid they are. Probably still smarter than the programmers.

Oh yea pit exits and entries are a joke too!

The AI of this Forza is the stupidest I have encountered in a car racing game, I have never seen so many comical and pathetic scenes unfortunately.

either do i. i never said that. you also suggest people should go play horizon for a more arcade experience in response to criticism about a poorly thought out system where when starting with a brand new car the only tuning option that will affect handling of a car is tire pressure! your advocating THE REMOVAL OF CHOICE!

so you like to make small changes that’s great keep on doing what your doing, the game isn’t stopping you. but it is stopping me from buying a differential until i level to 6. in what universe does this make sense. i have to drive for 3 practice laps, then up to 8 laps for a total of 11 laps. i know how to solve the handling issue but the game WONT LET ME.

Yea I agree with that.

I don’t mind having to grind out car points or whatever but have all the upgrades unlocked so I can choose what I want and not mindlessly running laps to get to whatever level I need.

All I wanted to do was lighten the car man… 2 hours later…

Turn10’s car leveling, meant to bond us to our cars, ironically drove us away from the game.

I only play single player career mode.

This is by far the worst forza game ever, even worst than FM5.

I felt like I was racing the same 5 tracks. The cars a VERY limited. I shouldn’t have to grind out car points to upgrade cars. That SEVERLY limits everything you do. Even in the open classes, why would I drive a new car when I have a level 30 car because I was forced to pick 1 out 4 cars for another series?

Its stupid. Its so stupid.

People are like “I like the progression…”

Then don’t play a racing game. Seriously. Progression is measured by lap times and upping the difficulty on the A.I making yourself better… NOT putting miles on the car and then being able to upgrade it.

You stick an F1 driver in ANY CAR and they will drive the wheels off it. Ever seen Top Gear? The Stig was an F1 driver. You don’t level up a car. That is the dumbest thing I’ve ever witnessed in a video game. If anything your driver level should dictate how you can upgrade your car, but even that is nonsense because if you’ve played a FORZA game before you are already experienced.

The AI, career mode, Car Points are the worst things I’ve seen in a racing game. I’ll check out this new update but honestly after that if there aren’t major changes, its an uninstall.

If you do not have the gamepass DO NOT buy this game.

To be fair, in most all video games you have to level up whatever it is you use to play the game. Whether it be a shooter, rpg, racer, etc. RPGs it’s your character and skill traits, COD it’s your weapon, Motorsport it’s your car…

I’ve always felt Horizon to be the racing sandbox where you are free to play around just do whatever where Motorsport should be catered to the more serious racing enthusiasts - most of which like the idea of progression (just not like this).

They just went about it in a very unrewarding and grindy way. So much potential to be creative here and completely dropped the ball. Maybe one of them things they didn’t have time to finish.

They picked the worst idea off of a long list of bad ideas. Even if they had shamelessly copied either Gran Turismo 7 or the GRID and F1 series’ takes on career mode, they could have easily produced something that eclipsed all of those games.

Then again, as it increasingly seems to be the case, perhaps I am basing that assertion on the idea of a Turn 10 that may no longer exist. I can’t say that I expected particularly much out of this game, but I certainly wanted something more than what we have now.

If they want me to bond with a car, they need to reshape progression and introduce logic in it!

It’s stupid that you need to drive for an hour or few races to be able to to some basic things. If there is unlock system for upgrades, then things NEED TO UNLOCK IN BULK! Logically. Basic parts together, more advanced parts together and so on… Not just unlock type of part.

How many levels you need to get to unlock basic weight reduction?
I need to drive car for hours to trow spare wheel and tools out?
You can put racing performance parts or even put full slick racing tires before you can trow f_ing spare wheel out!!!

You don’t need more examples to know that game is not made by car lovers for car lovers. It is made for gamepass players to spend time on grind, nothing else…

I’m currently driver lvl 97 and I have leveled only one car to lvl 50… And that’s only because I used it in two cups, and game’s save bug made me redo some races multiple times…

“nothing stopped you from slowly upgrading a car in previous Forza games.”

what do you mean nothing stopped me? standard features like what? upgrading cars? what are we talking about? all i want is to have a meanignful relationship with a car. race with a car 1 hour and be able to unlock parts for it. nothing wrong with that in my eyes.

You could happily drive a stock car for an hour in a previous game and then apply parts as and when you wanted to do so.

If I want to use a Jaguar XJ220 for an S class rivals event, please explain to me why it is a good game mechanic that I can’t do so until I’ve spent hours driving it around pointlessly to be able to unlock the appropriate parts. How is this fun for me?

why do you play the game then? how can developer balance this?

A: unlock parts by actually palying the game and having experience with the actual car and earn the right to race in better tier events.

or

B: dont have a system in place at all. let them have every part they want after grinding S tier races with 1000 HP cars day one and then when they grinded enough money playing the game for hours, they unlock every part on the jaguar to play at the highest level.

which one are you?
