Who else do we report wreckers to? My messages to him are 3-4 days old and no response.
Keep in mind that Snowowl is a volunteer, not a paid employee. He stays extremely busy reviewing replays, but he also has a family and a life. He has stated on here before that he reads all the posts and responds when he can to PM’s.
I am not aware of anyone else with the connection, ability or desire to take on what he has. So, please be patient.
Peace
He’s a volunteer; can’t expect him to be around all the time.
If only there was a way to send reports directly to Turn 10…
he banned himself for inappropriate content
He’s normally pretty good at responding nearly instantly and he takes pride in what he does even though he doesn’t get paid. The messages will be looked at and reviewed I can guarantee, sometimes people just have lives to deal with for a few days.
Don’t worry, it’ll get sorted. Just be patient :).
Yep, every time I send him a pm I get a response usually no later then 12 hours after I send it. You have to remember it’s a holiday weekend as well, Easter is today so he could be taking some time off.
The only reason I asked is because of his usual promptness for replying. It just seemed strange for him not do so this time.
It is a holiday week, perhaps he is busy with family. I’m sure he will respond soon.
Just want to use the opportunity to thank Snowowl for the work that he does, kudos!
I agree, and also thank the entire crew of forum moderators, who are also volunteers, for donating their valuable time.
You’d have to pay me to do his job/hobby.
He should be getting paid for what he does and nobody should have to volunteer to do that. It’s too bad Turn 10 is too cheap to have a payrolled employee just for watching for crashers and inappropriate liveries. Instead players have to spend time reporting idiots so that 25 new fools can take their place. I have even seen ppl who have separate accounts just for using to troll.
Everything he does is always appreciated.
No responses: (1) I am human, a volunteer and determined to protect OUR game(s). (2) Family, especially on the Easter weekend. (3) Not very good news regarding my wife’s lung and brain cancer (makes the weekend even more important). (4) Middle daughter and her husband bought their first house and this is moving weekend! (5) Two long days (on each end of the “vacation”) since our three daughters live 503 miles away. (6) Because of 1-4, I have limited Xbox time even though I pack the equipment up and bring it.
So: (1) I am a tired human, normally putting in 12-16 hours a day on all things Forza. Getting away might be really nice, except it is about a nine-hour drive to start and end the relaxing time. (2) And accumulation of several things, including the holiday, focused on a compacted five-day “weekend.”
(3) Diagnosed with Stage 4 lung and brain cancer in June, 2015, my wife has had multiple doctor, testing & treatment appointments mostly on a weekly basis since then which involves a minimum of three-hour round-trip drives. Last Thursday, we learned the latest MRI on the four brain tumors showed renewed (NOT NEW!) activity in three of the four, including some swelling (not good) around one. All the other CT and MRI scans until last week had shown a REDUCTION in the size of the tumors (lung and brain) of at least 50 percent and no new activity. We were at a minimum stunned because we were about to move into “next month” for testing and doctor visits progress, not next week. But we are POSITIVE and fully ready to continue the fight. So far she has had minimal side effects from a daily “chemo pill” and not missed a day of work. She’s one tough lady, and very determined.
(4) Our middle daughter and her husband closed escrow on their home purchase on Thursday and the sellers were out by Saturday morning, which meant they could be moved over the weekend! And they also announced they’re expecting their first child in October! Double good news, and another goal to live to see for my wife. And the little one will be our second grandchild. Our granddaughter from our youngest daughter just turned one year old earlier this month (which was another trip). Today is cleaning their apartment including all rugs, same for the bedrooms in the new home, and moving furniture into those rooms from the garage. (5) Tuesday will be another long drive to arrive home exhausted.
(6) There is no response for the above reasons, and real life has taken over with more important things. I apologize for the no responses, but if I were to spend the time saying “I’m busy with family” on each message, I would fill up the stupid 250-message limitation in the Private Message, then get messages on Xbox Live saying people couldn’t post to me. I ask for a little patience, I’m juggling real life and my commitment to our game(s) as best I can and have been online even over this weekend. Believe me, I know how important these things are and how atrocious the crashers are being to all players, but sometimes real life and family is much more important.
P.S. - We accept only POSITIVE thoughts and prayers. We tell our family only when we have new information, otherwise there is nothing to talk about and no questions have an answer. And, have I mentioned we’re POSITIVE?
I am a 4 time survivor, clean now for 4 1/2 years. I wish the best for you and your wife Snow. Do what they tell you and BOTH of take care. You’ll do no good for anyone if you don’t take of yourself as well.
Take care.
Mike
Thoughts with you and your family dude, glad everyone’s staying positive.
You’ve spoiled us, Snowowl, with your prompt replies, so one feels a bit of uneasiness when a reply take longer than usual. I do know that life happens and comes before the game. I wish the best for you and your family. And thanks again for the work that you do.
Snowowl, you did not owe an explanation.
Sending my sincere positive thoughts and prayers.
Stay positive, snow… No reason for explaining your real life situation, but highly appreciated that you still give a lot of your time to hunt some ducks (Insider!)
Sending also my positive thoughts and crossed fingers. YOU are Mr. Forza since FM 3 for me…
