Skill Chains

Is there anything more disappointing and aggravating than raking up a 50k skill chain only to lose it all by hitting a wall slightly too hard? Or getting hit by someone else? What if you knew you could win the race but to do it you’d have to make a hard turn and likely give up your skill chain. What about that stupid tree you hit at the very end of your destination. *****

My idea:
What if instead when you hit something It just banks whatever you have and starts over?

I like a good challenge but the idea that you have to drive so careful the whole way to get points takes a lot of fun out it for me. It seems like you have two choices… you can go for skill points or you can race slightly recklessly to win… It’s going to take quite a few fender benders to come in first.

If there’s a downside to what I said I’m not thinking of it. If I were T10 I would try something like it and just possibly decrease the rate at which you gain multipler, it would still encourages clean driving.

Try a 350k skill chain. And watching it go up in smoke when you get slammed by another car. lol. it happens, but they’re not that hard to accumulate. I have 300+ skill points, so I don’t even worry about it anymore.

In online they are. And banking points is what separates the winners from the losers

I have been trying to get a 12m skill chain 1m x 12 by crushing grapes and bananas in Ram Runner HE to beat on of my “friends” … keep losing interest and hitting a tree… but sitting at 999 Skill point for buying perks means I’m only doing it for fun…

I can see why when you crash you lose all the point you earn before the accident but at the same time not always you should lose it. ( Mainly because of Subaru Knobs online ) I think you should get a percentage of what you earnt. Maybe 25%?

They’re called SKILL chains. Not crashing is an important skill to have. This game is easy enough already.

I like skill chains just the way they are, except maybe the 300K cap. In a videogame, crashing a car has no real consequences. A hefty skill chain brings a certain lifelike thrill to it. No, you won’t hurt yourself, or total your car, but you will lose your chain.

I do think that skill points should go to at least the xp cap which I think is 10k xp at 600k points. So a max of say 6 skill points. Seems a little more reasonable than the current setup. But not losing skill points when you crash or get hit hard enough to cause damage defeats the purpose of them being skill points. Right?

For me the challenge of keeping the skill chain going in the mist of chaos is super fun and keeps the excitement level very high. I have had some massive skill chains busted by trying one more huge jump or one more drift tap. I’ve also had some 15-20 minute skill chains that I pulled off that were very satisfying, if the possibility of losing it all wasn’t present, it wouldn’t be as much fun. I definitely like trying my best to win the race and at the same time banking skill points. Check out Don Joewon Song youtube videos on skill chains, this dude is insane, fun to watch someone this skilled do his thing.

I fulfilled every challenge on BM without making any races longer and without breaking a sweat.

You have the option to increase the number of laps if you find them hard.

I am grateful for the challenge they are at the moment and would not want them made any easier.

They are all doable without driving “carefully”.

EDIT: I am also still surprised at people saying you can not get enough xp driving well online.

I race to win online, very rarely do I care about the xp leaderboard. But I get enough xp from finish position plus racing clean bonus to almost always be competing for top spot on xp anyway.

The xp bonus for racing clean is double what it was in FH2.

Have you noticed a lack of quantity online the past…5 days? Every room I jump into is One other person…

I just do BM online adventure. Custom sucks since the update.
